Okay, Michael, I am now convinced you are not human. OR IF you are human, then you are not just One human. Your essay, "The Eternal Sunshine of the Democrat Mind" was too perfect. Every paragraph was well thought out, perfectly expressed, and TRUE. One person can not be so perfectly productive so often. Fess up.. are you an AI or a team of a dozen?
Well, I wish I came with a cape. Unfortunately my apparent superpower is annoying people. I’m just a simple victim of the Mississippi public school and collegiate system.
I have a degree from the University of South Carolina and I have been privileged to be a lecturer at Mississippi State. I've made a good living as a writer. Despite these advantages, I can not equal your performance. I do so admire capes!
I've always thought capes and canes were underrated as fashion accessories. Being a Southern gentleman, I would like to incorporate those in my daily wardrobe.
Thank you for the compliment. I have no writing credentials or bona fides. I write in a stream of consciousness, so what is in my head comes out the fingers.
I am a Mississippi State graduate, an Ole Miss fan and got my masters at the University of Utah - but none of that seems to have helped.
They actually could make abortion legal at the federal level. They even tried just four short weeks ago. But they were thwarted by that bane of Democrats: democracy. They didn't have the votes. This is why they spent 50 years subjugating the federal courts - they couldn't force their ideas onto American citizens democratically. And this is why "the courts" have become so important to Democrats - with the "correct" justices, they serve as a super legislature to accomplish that which they cannot by democratic means. With the "incorrect" justices, I guess the courts are...."illegitimate".
I'm not sure they can legislatively "codify" this at a national level. I don't know where Congress gets that authority. The only way I see they can do that is by adding an amendment to the Constitution, which they never can sell to the American people.
I believe you are correct. I had felt that way myself previously, but hadn't researched the issue aside from what "the news" has said, which presumes whatever the Congress wants to do is constitutional by default. They could attempt a justification based on interstate commerce, but that was a shaky reed at best before this court's much more conservative majority. There's nothing "interstate" about abortion, but while that wouldn't have deterred the activists, this court won't even grant this Certiorari. They could attempt to go the "privacy" route as well, but I believe the majority on the court has taken that fig leaf away with this finding. WHPA was originally introduced in 2013 and has come up again in 2015, 2017 and 2019. I'd think if they could have found a way to pass it constitutionally, they would have.
Regarding "democrats are willing to burn down everything"
(democracy), “a government by the passions of the multitude, or, no less correctly, according to the vices and ambitions of their leaders.” On another occasion, he labeled democracy’s majority rule one of “the intermediate stages towards … tyranny.” He later opined: “Democracy, in its best state, is but the politics of Bedlam; while kept chained, its thoughts are frantic, but when it breaks loose, it kills the keeper, fires the building, and perishes.” - Fisher Ames, served in the first U.S. Congress during Washington's two terms

Wear the cape. Re-rate it.
(And it takes concealed carry to a new level.

They are the Party of Death
Yes, they are...and they think they hold the moral high ground.
