I believe the entire phenomenon is ultimately the expression of a revolt against God and the idea of true absolute laws that He has established either within the physical laws of nature or His moral decrees. It is no accident that the majority of academics today are not only leftists but die-hard atheists.

CS Lewis said somewhere (in “ The Abolition of Man” perhaps?) that the endpoint of the revolt sgainst God woild be a creature he called “the Materialist Magician,” man claiming god-like powers in defiance of God.

And then came Woodrow Wilson and his second wife, Edith. He did support Women's Suffrage while she was supporting Planned Parenthood and the elimination of black Americans via abortion.

While you assert transexuality as the Progressives' most overt rejection of reality, an even worse milestone was the key cause that initiated their path of rejection of truth and all that's good: abortion.

Their foundational premise behind their efforts to justify the elimination of lives who are perceived to be inconvenient to their personal utopias was that "the unborn aren't persons" - never questioning that assertion based not on science, but on feelings. It's no wonder their belief in the disposability of life extends now to the post-born.

Avoiding the question of the wrongness of their belief has led to avoidance of all logic and reason, with their divorce from reality invariably leading to the psychosis we see in their reactions to Charlie Kirk's assassination.

No argument on that point, it is just that transgenderism has risen to the top to the point we are seeing transgenders rise to the top of the list of mass shooters.

Denial of reality is ultimately a self-limiting phenomenon, if we can survive while it plays itself out.

You're too kind, Michael: "This rejection of reality fuels much of the anger and frustration consuming modern progressivism, a rage that borders on madness."

You absolutely nailed it here. "It is not merely a policy debate but a rejection of observable, biological fact, elevated to a sacred tenet enforced by social pressure and legal mandate."
