Americans don't understand coalitions, so they don't understand Democrats. Here's a much more detailed analysis of this same topic, with some history thrown in to boot. "There’s nothing crazy about the Democrats’ agenda: Every Democrat policy is designed to build the party’s voting coalition": https://daveziffer.substack.com/p/theres-nothing-crazy-about-the-democrats
Post modern Progressivism is a bundle of competing interests and factions held together by the strap of the Democratic Party. The buckle of that strap is an aging bunch of leaders who lost the last election thru sheer incompetence and stupidity. How much longer this can go on is a truly important question, as well as what follows after when the old “central committee” is pushed aside for people such as AOC, Omar, Jeffries, et al.
I had a convo with a 40 year old hippy wannabe on Salt Spring Island in BC. He said proudly “I am an anarcho-communist.” I pointed out anarchists have the least rules, communists the most, and asked if he saw a contradiction in his beliefs. He said “that isn’t how I am using those terms”.
Painfully insightful. So much of the US population is under this "cloud" of endless media lies... (remember Snuffy Smith?) and they buy into it, hook, line and sinker....
The Party staggers on with taxpayer funding from NGOs with the word "Community" in their title. Trump and the DOGE team have exposed and eliminated huge chunks of that. Which is the real motivation for their latest amped-up rhetoric.
Since 2008 elections it has become a party that only cares to be confrontational. No longer working to keep America strong on realistic and prosperous policies. So sad.

I have no argument to offer for any of this. Thanks as always.

Hibernation. The smart ones are laying low and letting the dumb ones destroy what’s left of the party so they can rebuild.
Smart guys are betting on Trump fatigue. May or may not work but it’s the best they got

(Hell, the rest of the world, too!)
Ever heard of WA, OR or CA? The pedal is to the metal.
