Would I be right to assume the following statement was tongue in cheek? "For example, Democrats have always accused the political right of trying to bring back Nazism because, you know, Nazism comes from the right of the political spectrum." Because, if we really look at history (and the definition itself), Naziism (along with Fascism) is on the left of the political spectrum - it is socialism, as I discussed a while back: https://curetsky.substack.com/p/is-fascism-actually-on-the-right
Yes, that was tongue fully implanted in cheek sarcasm. There's a reason the left doesn't want to talk about what the term "Nazi" stands for - the National Socialist German Workers' Party.
I have seen Substack posts which label others as Nazis, even Substack itself as fostering Nazi ideology. I think the people who do that just might be bamboozlers, trying to make people with genuine, thinking, opinions all defensive, and intimidated, without any substantiation or logic behind their intended defamations. You may be skeptical of my claims; but you (i.e., anyone) can and should bear this concept in mind when reading anyone's post. So, Chad, good eye; Michael, be sure some naysayer doesn't intimidate you.
Yes David, many use terms like Nazi, white supremacist, racist, transphobe, homophobe, Islamophobe, etc. to shut down intelligent dialogue and put their "opponent" on the defensive. It is the tactic of a low-info ideologue, and it is certainly not what I believed Michael to be doing.
We need a no-holds barred Commander in Chief. We need a Commander in Chief who holds no future political aspirations. We need a Commander in Chief who has no employment desires in the agencies and businesses needing total reconstruction or total dissolution.
Any world leader receiving a call from Donald Trump will pick up the phone. He's the only one capable and willing to do the gritty stuff that must be done for our survival.
Spot on Michael. The left and the RINO's have seen Trumps ability to command and that frightened the hell out of them and to that end they had to make him into a pariah. They have to send a clear message to anyone else that attempts to do what Trump has done.
And illustrating the pot calling the kettle black (or maybe calling the SS mixing bowl black): They're trying to claim that if Trump gets re-elected, he will turn America into a fascist state.
Oddly enough, if DJT becomes POTUS #47, he may be far more effective than if he'd served two consecutive terms. I didn't vote for him in '16. I couldn't bring myself to trust a lifelong Democrat. My fear was that he'd win, then somehow take his marching orders from Her> and we'd ultimately end up with Soetero 3. Boy was I happy to be wrong. Trump is no Conservative, he's a Pragmatist. Had the Left had any common sense, they'd have chosen to work with him and a good portion of their agenda would have been supported by 45. But it's never been about what's best for Democrats, it's about the retention and use of power. Do as we say, or else.
What we ended up with was someone that truly loves this country and would do whatever he could to ensure a rising tide that would lift all boats. But because it wasn't Her>, they went nukular and The Donald responded with, "Bring It". Since then, all the Left was interested in was obstructionism. Didn't matter if a policy championed by Trump benefitted them or not, they would do their utmost to interfere, wreck, or hinder what Trump sought. That became apparent to many, and still they doubled down on their unhinged antics. The J6 prosecutions set the tone. If Trump is elected, they may get a healthy dose of their own medicine. Better yet, if he ignored their tantrums completely and simply focused on MAGA, that would be an example that the fence sitters could not ignore. The true believers would still engage in insane antics, but people quickly grow bored with that brand of lunacy.
Shortly after he was elected, I figured even with two terms, he wouldn't be able to fix all that's broken in our Republic, but we'd have a damn good list to refer to. Turns out there's a lot more dysfunction and damage than most anyone imagined. That's been emphasized the last few years. The current Administration is all-in on Cloward-Piven. Their actions illustrate that to all but the true believers and the intentionally ignorant. I'd love to see a new Trump Administration take a machete and an axe or chainsaw to the federal government. Destroy the deep state. The right running mate could turn that into a very real road to recovery. My personal preference remains Trump-DeSantis until '28, then something like DeSantis-Lake, or a player to be named later. It'd theoretically be possible for twenty years of recovery.
If elected, it won't matter who he pisses off. Not so much a lame duck, but more like Howard The Duck.
'Trapped In a World He Never Made!'.
Howard The Duck truly represented the D.I.L.L.I.G.A.F. attitude. Patton was the same way. It is far better to ask forgiveness than permission.
And check out the wording in the Constitution: as I recall, it's a two CONSECUTIVE-term limit, although after another four, Trump's mental acuity may not be at its peak.
Always insightful Michael.

I figured with you that was the case. My sarc-detector was just a little off this morning.

Trump can still be saddled with unending impeachment, assuming enough dems, etc., in the house.
And woosy Republicans.
