Too few in our nation seem to know that the USA has been unique in history --- a great many of the 195 nations members of the UN are ruled either by tyrants, despots, theothugs, or dictators. Being the exception, our nation has been under siege -- the success of our experiment is a threat to their continuing existence. Now we are burdened by elected and non-elected intent to follow that wretched example.

My wife and I continued out lives almost with never wearing a mask. No sickness. But even today, my friends that get a cold will always call it "covid". Any sickness similar to a cough or flu-like is considered "covid".
They were grotesquely incompetent prior to Covid. Perhaps they thought this pandemic response would prove otherwise - demonstrate how important they are to us. Alas, it exposed just the opposite.
