I like the logic, but I don't think the powers that be would be on board, not to mention all the 2 bit power hungry potential runners

I did note they can't think strategically. Maybe the voters have to do it for them. Maybe we need to get fully behind Trump this cycle with the full knowledge why he is being sent there.

Michael - I think you are onto something here. How about the following scenario. Trump/? for 2024 - and DeSantis stays in Florida. Whoever the VP is also remains the VP for Desantis, then goes onto Pres. So that gives us, hopefully a 20 year run.

You are also right that we need the long term strategy (or what they would say was the Long-game). The Dems have been playing their long game, and started at both ends to the middle. First Pres/VP and at local school boards and county levels, then they worked towards the middle being governors, AG's, District Court judges and the like.

We need our own game, and perhaps borrow from their playbook too. We need friendly judges, we need strategic local school boards and county people. And we need not stop. Keep the train rolling from day one, laws, executive actions, and whatever else it takes to bring the cabal down.

But more than ever, we need better trainers and coaches, not the go-along to get-along crowd. We need those with backbone, and cajónes to direct, maneuver, manage and counsel. If we need a Boston Tea Party then have been call for it. If we need the wall (which we do) then finish building it. If we need budgets cut (which we do) then cut them. If we need to abolish the FBI - then do so. And on and on and on...

It's time to take back America and keep it. If we don't it's over...

I have been saying this very thing for 2 years and up until now, no-one has echoed the sentiment. I have been told that DeSantis can do anything Trump can do but will do it nicer and will be better received. The things that need to be done are not nice and if well-received, were done incorrectly.

I agree with SOME of what you say. "We" know that Trump would be "best" for the job for the reasons you say. But he is then also less likely than ANY candidate to win because of the media's war against-- him--in particular. And he himself --is no help with statements he makes. All the "indictments in waiting" will be dragged out purposely against him. It affects the Independents whose votes we MUST have to win. I also disagree about McCarthy. He has done a stellar job. McConnell is a lost cause. Ronna I think realizes the enormous challenge ahead. The Dems have NO conscience--and that's hard to beat--they are cunning and basically "own" the DOJ, FBI, and the media.

DeSantis cannot take the VP spot. The VP MUST be someone like Haley or Scott who can win over Independents. VPs need to bring in a voting group the POTUS candidate cannot.Pence brought in the Evangelicals in 2016.

I'm pessimistic. We can't wait for 2028--our country is being destroyed--a loss in 2024 will be the "death nell".

I'm sure you recall Rush (PBUH) remarking how irritated he got at people telling us that we should abandon Sarah Palin because the media destroyed her.

Who do we have that they WON'T destroy?

Who is there that they won't destroy that we would find acceptable?

It's fine that Trump wants revenge. He's entitled to it. But for us to abandon him is to stipulate that the media and FBI are entitled - by WHATEVER MEANS NECESSARY - to tell us for whom we may vote. Rolling that grenade back into the tent, whatever the result and by whatever means WE must employ, is the rejection of that point of view.

I agree. I too would like "revenge". But it'll be a HUGE gamble with DJT. So many people are afflicted by TDS. It's our reality--even though it's unfair and we know why it's unfair --and who and what continues to be unfair..

I think those afflicted with TDS are fewer than we think...but very, VERY LOUD.

Consider that *every* institutional body in the USA -- tech, media, "news," education, gov't bureaucracy, entertainment, anything else you care to name -- are opposed to DJT, his supporters, the consitution, and everything we hold worthwhile...

....and yet, elections are this --->||<--- close.

Unfortunately, I think that Haley, Scott have no fire in their belly. True that they might be able to win over independents/centrists.

VP spot doesn't need the same amount of "fire.." The person MUST attract those that have TDS but would consider that ticket.

I think a DeSantis/Pompeo team in 2024 is a better plan. Ron has shown in Florida the ability to tear through the progressive agenda, and Peter knows all the hiding places in the Federal Government to tear out. I believe that this team would be much more likely to win in the general election.

De Santis cannot be Trump's VP candidate constitutionally! They would FORFEIT Florida!!

Ron D. is in bed with the globalist money men. That makes him suspect in my book! Another Bushite, at best, who sold us out at a discount from 30 pieces of silver!

Unfortunately we are screwed. Desantis is the best candidate to actually do the WORK of overhauling and destroying the "swamp." Trump is all talk and tweets and zero work ethic. Remember 2016 he spent a full year touring the country talking about building a wall, and then had a two year window with a Republican Congress and never even attempted to do it because it required work and couldn't be done from the key pad of a phone. If he thinks the 2020 election was rigged and stolen, why would assume 2024 won't even be more rigged and stolen? Sadly 2024 should be the best shot because the opponent is a demented crypt keeper. It would sadly behoove Desantis to just sit this out. Once he gets the stink of Trump's belittling attacks on him this election cycle, his career and election prospects are ruined. Notice Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio aren't running this time. Why not? Trump ended their chances forever in 2016 and will do the same to Desantis this time around. This opens the door for 4 more years of the Marxist revolutionaries propping up Biden, followed by Gavin Newsom in 2028. I already moved out of California to get away from him once, and I am planning my escape route out of the country after his Presidential election.

GC208, Sounds very much like a never Trumper.

There was a LOT of support needed to build the wall, Trump drummed it up and got much of it built. Much of the money came from abstract sources too.

The man and Party who restores our intended form of Government will not be well received or liked.
