Capitalism, to succeed, requires men with chests. (cf. C.S. Lewis)

I am intrigued by the notion that China has morphed into a giant corporation. The product? Cost reduction. Industrial corporations outsource to China for the manufacturing phase of production. How do they do it? (Shhh...Slave labor). That's how Apple puts an iPad in your hands for under $2000. There is a surcharge, however; just a tad of guilt.

Excellent except for the concluding sentence. Can't tell whether you believe capitalism will destroy collectivism or exactly what you are saying. China's collectivist state took on capitalism and it has thrived. However the communist state structure has returned to its historical model of emperor and warlord structure. It is no longer communist with the communal communist bodies at ground level, a wasteful destructive collection of venal people perverting everything all over the land at the micro level, now there are warlords or strongmen in control. A return of China to its cultural and governance roots.
