Using Kindness as a Weapon
The evil have a penchant for using good as a weapon against the good.
Three things are combining to push America to the edge of an abyss:
Tyranny of the minority
The Paradox of Tolerance
Collective guilt and punishment
Tyranny of the minority refers to the power wielded by a highly motivated, unbending minority that projects outsized influence.
Karl Popper, the Austrian-born British philosopher, stated in his Paradox of Tolerance, if a society is tolerant without limit, its ability to be tolerant is eventually seized or destroyed by the intolerant.
The twin ideas of collective guilt and collective punishment, two things the American left love to use. For example, if one white person is a racist, all whites are racist.
Combining these thee into a single effort creates a situation where the solution to the problems of a minority is thought to be solved by forcing the greater society to participate in that delusion and where collective guilt/punishment is used as an enforcement mechanism.
Take the way transgenderism is being used to completely invert the American sociopolitical landscape, for example.
It is estimated something like 1% of the American population are alleged to “identify” as transgender, and I say “identify” because by the time they reach 25, something like 85% no longer “identify” as a sex other than the one they were born being.
No matter what the left would have you believe, America is an amazingly tolerant country. Global surveys prove it.
We believe in individualism and individual rights, so we are loath to penalize any way any minority group. As in Popper’s Paradox, we go overboard, to the point of preference, to avoid doing even a perception of harm to a minority group.
American’s do feel collective guilt in speaking out against a minority group’s positions, even if we recognize them to be harmful. Maybe that is why we are hyper tolerant of radicalism.
In America, half of the country sees being good as a strength - the other half sees it as a weakness.
It certainly seems the left has learned how to combine these three things into a single weapon aimed at our Constitution and our American civilization.
Look at what the axis of Biden and his Secretary of Education, Miguel Cardona, have done with their regulatory changes to Title IX. Those new directives turn several Constitutional provisions and amendments on their head.
Biden and Cardona gave the government the power to compel speech. They also stripped students of due process and the right to face their accuser. From August 2024 on, accused students will lose their right to a guaranteed live hearing with the opportunity to have a representative cross-examine their accuser. Accompanied by a return to the "single-investigator model," these new rules will allow a single administrator to investigate and decide the outcome of a case and conclusion can be reached without ever allowing the accused student to know the full evidence against him or providing a hearing during which he could defend himself.
Feels like something Franz Kafka wrote about.
What to do?
Ally with free speech and due process organizations and sue them.
Absent that, let them take us to court. This needs to get to the Supreme Court as fast as possible.
As I said yesterday, given the scope and frequency of the unconstitutionality of Biden’s actions, SCOTUS is going to need a drive-thru window.
I maintained from the start of COVIDICY that the state used our natural desire to care for others and be compassionate to lock us in our homes, force us to take an untested and unproven vaccine and compromise our Presidential election.
How many PSA’s bleated about saving others’ lives by the lockdowns? We even had flashing DOT signs “Did you kill someone today? Stay home, keep others safe!”
So called compassion for those whose mental and emotional distress has them hacking off body parts and taking cross sex hormones has consigned confused children to a life of medical intervention and misery.
I hope and pray those who were fooled the first time won’t be fooled again
What you espouse Michael is the rule of law -- a bedrock of our form of self governance. What the current cabal and the remnants of POTUS 44 are practicing are the rules of the jungle. Would that be a more winning weapon for goodness to practice?
