This Day We Fight
"A day may come when the courage of Men fails, when we forsake our friends and break all bonds of fellowship, but it is not this day."
Over the years, I have formed my positions and made my decisions based on what I thought was best for my family. I am who I am because that is what my family needs me to be. That doesn’t mean I have betrayed my own beliefs; it actually means I have applied them to teach my children as my parents and their parents taught them. In some ways I am much different than them, but in most cases, I AM them.
What has and is happening in America under the last two Democrat administrations is wrong for my family. It is wrong for me; it is wrong for my wife, and it most certainly is wrong for my kids and their futures. It would be wrong for my parents and grandparents - if they were still with us.
And that’s not me making decisions for any of them, they think for themselves. They all feel the same way, they have reasoned themselves into that decision.
The issues surrounding free speech and now the potential for Roe and Casey to be overturned have ripped the scab right off. America is truly two very different places. It didn’t happen this past week, the tectonic shifts have been ongoing for years – it’s just that after years of taking it in the rump, people are speaking up and pushing back, and that push back has set the left on fire.
Biden is claiming “MAGA” people are the worst – worse than Hitler, worse than Stalin, worse than serial killers. Abortion fetishists are threatening Supreme Court Justices. The leftist media organs are praising democracy on the one hand while using the other to try to stop any of these issues from going to the people. The Democrats accuse the Republicans of being fascists and authoritarians while implementing fascist and authoritarian policies.
It is such an odd, Orwellian time to be alive.
Everything means something else if it doesn’t agree with what leftist Democrats want.
We have entered Hell, for sure.
As the old saying goes, if you are marching through Hell, keep marching until you come out the other side.
There is a tide turning, but the American left isn’t just going to ask for quarter and leave the field. They have never been stronger, never had so many built in defenses. Today’s battlefield is tilted toward them after 150 years of constitution-hating progressivism.
But this may well be their zenith, their peak. Trump, DeSantis, Musk and now Alito’s purloined draft are three gut punches and a thundering right hook – a staggering series of blows, but while they may be down for the count, they are not out. We have let them up off the mat innumerable times before.
The difference this time is that there has been no walk back by any of the people from our corner who are in the ring.
The best way for us to support them is not to waver. I told you many times this war as coming to your door, there are no innocent bystanders. We have wanted this fight for decades and now it is here.
No quarter, no surrender.
I will not submit. I will stand fast with you, my brothers and sisters. I will stand with the men of the West!
Aragorn said it best at the Black Gate:
I see in your eyes the same fear that would take the heart of me. A day may come when the courage of Men fails, when we forsake our friends and break all bonds of fellowship, but it is not this day.
An hour of wolves and shattered shields when the Age of Men comes crashing down, but it is not this day!
This day we fight!
I suspect many writers and readers on Substack.com can remember the sixties and the anti-war protests. I was young and idealistic and imagined that because all of my friends felt like I did, certainly voters would support Eugene McCarthy and the war would end.
The brutality of the police at the 1968 Democratic convention and the nation's reaction against the revolutionaries and hippies was eye-opening.
Truly, if there was ever a time for a revolution, it is now. Still, those memories linger and the fascist Obama/Biden regime may be just a tiny part of the New World Order.
That being said, the fact that the leak of Alito's opinion to Politico did not lead to more violence is a good sign. It may be that the public has had its fill of Biden's lies, Kamala's incompetence, the Gestapo-like FBI, CIA, Justice Department, and the NIH.
Power to the People.
