The would-be Soviets are now selling slavery with a smile. "The full buffet is free, if you just vote for me" goes the siren song of the "democratic" socialists. Don't believe it.
The siren song is always the same: vote for me and the buffet is free. Don’t believe it. Free housing means they decide where you live. Free education means they decide what you learn. Free transportation means they decide where you can go. Free healthcare means they decide what care you get. Free equality means they cut down anyone who rises too high. Capitalism has flaws because people have flaws, but it leaves room for action, risk, work, charity, family, faith, invention, and escape. Socialism sells comfort. Communism delivers control. Stalin just learned to smile.
That’s basically it but it’s a tad more brutal than just we can do better. Communism only thrives when there is threat behind the collective. Stalin murdered over 30 million people because he decided they were lazy and not communist enough. Mao murdered over 50 million for the same power play. Pol Pot etc, etc. Marxist professors in America schools fail to teach what happens when reality finally checks in and citizens decide to check out. Mostly murder on an industrial scale. By then anyone who has an individual thought becomes the enemy and must be dealt with.
On the last transatlantic crossing on the QM2 met a Cuban national in the cigar lounge who fled with his family after Castro’s rise to power. His family was working with Bacardi producing rum. They had done well & had two houses, several cars, etc.He said they were visited by some of Castro’s people demanding to see a list of their assets; under the threat of gun barrels they produced it. The communists went thru & seized everything, anything the family was able to keep was termed “we’ll allow you to keep this…’
Communism is nothing more than a criminal, mafia-like racket; the people @ the top steal all the wealth under the false guise of “revolution”. The entire thing is a con & a scam.
