Reports From Behind the Lines
Being in a tough neighborhood, Israel is always under attack. My friend, Dave Bender, lives in Israel and sends reports.
Iran directly attacked Israel today and unfortunately, the responses from the global community is summed up in this from the UN Secretary General:
I strongly condemn the serious escalation represented by the large-scale attack launched on Israel by Iran. I call for an immediate cessation of these hostilities. Neither the region nor the world can afford another war.
Of course, Iran was terrified by Biden’s admonition of “Don’t.”
Today’s attack is a giant middle finger to the well meaning elderly man with the bad memory.
Dave messaged me today:
Saturday night updates (I'll update here with rolling reports as events develop - assuming we'll have electricity and internet- DB): The head-on war with Iran has begun; my brief live stream is here:

I'll admit: the last time I, personally, felt this much tension in the air and across the mediasphere was the outbreak of the Gulf War. Tonight begins the Pesach break - roughly equivalent to "Spring Break" events and trips, etc - across a country the size of New Jersey. (...and I'm not even mentioning the 14-year-old Jewish shepherd, Binyamin Ahimeir, horrifically stoned to death by an Arab mob Friday morning, as he herded his sheep, nor the 40+ projectile rocket and UAV barrage fired by Hezbollah into Israel in the last 24-hours.) But these aren't Spring Break hijinx.
Some unprecedented headlines (...and, mind you, these are the non-hysterical, non-news ones).
If you do Facebook, please do follow Dave’s updates at: https://www.facebook.com/groups/LifeontheBorder.
We are not hearing about the domestic terror the Israeli people fact on a daily basis.
Folks, there are good guys and bad guys here and it is easy to tell who is who. I will side with Israel every time.
Islam is unlike any other spiritual organization, organized more for political and control of daily life than the other major affiliation organizations like Christianity, Judaism, and others. For a simple person like me, I have concluded that guiding principles of all the sects of Judaism and Christianity are founded on transcendental redemption whereas all of the sects that include the followers of mohammed are founded on nihilism.
The Shi'i Ayatollahs of Iran are particularly dogmatic in this ... many examples during the past more than 50 years. The hate, brutality, and plain evil they preach, inspire, and practice must be resisted at all costs.
