Michael, I would encourage you simply to continue writing what's on your heart. You do a great job of it, and I think it draws people in. You're an excellent writer, and that coupled with your personal engagement with the subject matter is what draws people to your writing. It is not about what your readers want - it is about what you have to say that matters. That's my $0.02, for what it's worth (which is likely less than $0.02).

I totally agree with "Chad's" comment. I love your articles and t he way you write them. You are such a 'deep thinker' and put your thoughts right out there. I really dug the one you did in the last day or so about those who are doing all the demonstrating lately. It will be interesting to see how they will handle things, if, when, they finally over throw our way of life. Bet they have never considered how their lives will be then. Surely, not the way they are not where they are free to demonstrate and cause havoc. None of that will be allowed if and when they finally do 'win'. Again, I love reading and passing your articles to a friend of mine with whom I worked many year ago.

Michael, I wrote a comment saying you are a plain spoken writer and hoped many are subscribing. Lots of folks need to read/hear the clarity of your thoughts and well chosen words born of a life spent making your community and family better. Many others in this string have responded in similar fashion. I am very pleased to have discovered your writings. Keep at it please

I too think you should continue to write from the heart, but I must confess I focus more on the folksy memories and the uplifting or encouraging entries. I just can’t take too much bitterness and bad news right now, even though it’s the truth. Probably because it’s the truth.

Articles are great, don't stop. Perhaps as an add-on - what are the things we ourselves as individuals, can do to counter or stop the action you write about?

I find your write rich in references, and I often wonder how you have time to do a lot of the reading you reference.

I like the thoughtful deconstruction of the current events and also the insights into your thought processes. I appreciate that someone is out there banging a drum that resonates with me. Hopefully others are listening!

Long time listener, first time caller. "Ditto!" As an Engineer whose favorite classes in college were the two semesters of Political Philosophy I took while considering a law degree, I love the way you look at things. Always insightful, frequently enlightening. And as far as context, and frequency; I still wonder about how things turned out with your community and property rights disputes. I don't do social media any more, focusing on the small handful of people I've found worth considering. I've got plenty of time to read anything you care to share about. My oldest is a West Point grad (Chemical Engineering) and my second is pre-med right now. Your posts are frequently shared with them. Thank you.

You don't need to change a thing. You keep up with current events and have a most sensible point of view, not to mention some poetic punditry. My brains always need that kind of stimulation.

I've been following you since I saw your comments on FB's Fans of the BOTWT site, back when James Taranto was still running the site. I agree with the other posters and encourage you to keep up your excellent work.

Please continue to feed, don't cater. You are sustenance for the eyes of the heart (Ephesians 1).

The previous thoughtful responses are more eloquent than I could possibly be.

I love your writings and frequently share them. You’ve got new readers from my friends after I’ve shared your thoughts.

Thanks and soldier on!

You have done an incredible job educating yourself. I am keen to learn but not yet motivated enough to do the same. Perhaps an educational series on your beliefs and provide links to sources. I have personally purchased some of the references you have cited. I used to have faith in the online free versions but am now very aware of how easily Snowball can manipulate that. So starting a paper library.

And another who wouldn't have you change what and how you write. The selfish person in me wants more more more, but I realize that you do have a life and that oftentimes quantity comes at the cost of quality.

I read your Substack and anything VDH writes daily. The rest is hogwash. Keep telling the truth.
