In North America, woke is giving way to being awake. The leftist authoritarian admonition to "follow the science" is dying in the face of bad polling and looming elections.
Politicians of any stripe are always about the "if it saves just one life". That helps them to achieve hero status. Even if "save just one life" translates loosely to "doesn't matter how many others have to die".
