I'm of the belief that cooler heads will prevail, but it will take time. Had Trump been more like Ross Perot and stood up there with charts and graphs and show us how we were being bleed dry by foreign entities (I hate to say countries and friends - because friends don't screw friends like we have been), then maybe the masses would be more welcoming to leveling the playing field on tariffs.

For me, I'm patient, I'm waiting and then I will buy into this market as the values will have stabilized and it will be more uphill from there.

Show us charts and numbers? But our wonderful public schools don’t teach us that math stuff! Feelings are gooder!

Sean - you've been waiting to use that 'feelings are gooder' sentence, haven't you! :)

Yes - after seeing the Matt Groening type cartoon with the nose-picking ‘brilliant’ child.

I’ll just say I think Trump is tariff-ic!

Corporate taxes should be eliminated. They are a cost that is reflected in every item and service rendered by a corporation.

Excellent summary. Tariffs are a starting point to level the battlefield and set the stage for negotiations. They will evolve with each country depending on their willingness to work out a reasonable agreement. Vietnam already agreed to no tariffs. Lots more will follow.

It took guts to do this--but it was necessary. I think the tax cuts being made permanent--should have proceeded this and perhaps the word "cave" should never be used as no country wants to "lose face".
