I also believe that to begin, that states take back the school system, and then the parents within the states utilize their voices and take back the schools through becoming members of the local school board and PTA's and use their voices. Without their involvement I'm afraid that things will continue to be as they are - or even worse.

The proof is in the pudding. These systems hold no moral or spiritual values. Poor parents are too hard working & busy and don't have enough money for nannies, tutors, personal assistants and nurses. Two parents always working = Children raised by The State, which means government, which means mostly corruption at present.

Many educators believe they act as parents 'in loco parentis' and will actually argue the point -- NOTHING is farther from the truth. Every parent has the right to determine what is being taught their child. It is not easy to have to continually intervene to support your child in the public system -- BUT it is an absolute necessity. Our children and grandchildren are known, by the teachers in every grade and by the supervisors in the school system, to have strong family support -- it makes a difference !

"In loco parentis" refers to the legal responsibility of a person or organization to take on some of the functions and responsibilities of a parent - with the emphasis on "some". They are normally limited to the care and safety of the children, not the ideological indoctrination of them.

It's a nice idea; however, "the legal responsibility" is no longer a real thing since our leaders in Canada & America, and around the world are such liars it sickens one. How could their institutions be any different? (But it's our fault we let it get this bad.) Good exists. All over, but it's clear the deviants are (as a Rav once said) "What?! Do you think the Devil's gonna show up with horns? No! He's gonna show up wearing a suit and a tie. These types wear many colours in the broad spectrum of occupations. Thanks though, Michael. I appreciate your work here... I'm with you!

Thank you, I am aware and for certain support the last words in your comment. The interpretation our family has encountered with now 2 generations in the system is their legal presumption of 'replacing' the parent -- we would not agree with that interpretation -- caused the system heartburn for the first month or so each year. We were recognized as knowing our responsibilities, rights, and being active involvement in the pedagogy.

I'm sorry, my reply sounded pretty jerkish - I meant to convey exactly what you wrote. Teachers are very temporary replacements, not long term substitutes.

Correct. Where is the time in a busy working day? And what and how much influence/culture should exist? How much and how many basic skills are being ignored in favour of throwing children to "the wind" in over-crowded schools with bloated bureaucracies? As one teacher explained to me who was helping me home-school before it became "a thing". She was thankful she didn't have to deal with "crowd management". There existed a great deal of respect between teachers and parents that for some reason has evaporated and needs to return and rain down, cleansing everything from what is putrid.
