Reading this, I feel a wearying realization of exactly how irretrievably lost we are. I’m guessing many others “on this same page” have tried for a long time to point out the brutally obvious to too many who refuse to see, and you’ve nailed it, yet again, Michael. Why are you not a guest speaker on one of those great shows discussing such matters?? Better yet, a host thereof.
As many in this country spiral down the drain of despair, they are quick to turn on each other, pointing fingers of blame at anyone the left is only too happy to identify as the cause of their miseries. We’ve become Victims United, and a villain can be found for each woe.
As for the causes of our undoing, I’d have to add two:
Johnson’s Great Society, and
The Unleashing of HRC on the pharmaceutical industry in the early ‘90’s, when she was hungry to make a name for herself and ready to exploit an entire industry sector with mob-boss rules.
Many of our current widespread fiscal And social ills (and physical ills!) have resulted from the destruction she authored.
Just when you think there’s nothing left for them to wreck, they surprise you again.
I'll add a third plus a corollary: The 1965 Immigration Act and the 1986 Amnesty follow up. Neither was necessary, both were the product of lies and treachery, and both dynamited the relative demographic stability that made much of the United States possible. We can solve the problem of overseas manufacturing, the overspending, the stupid policy, and all of that, but we can't solve the problem resulting from a nation of hostile factions, dissimilar cultures, and colliding peoples who neither understand nor value the founding principles.
Michael, I have long said, Democrats bring a gun (AK-47?) to a knife fight. The Republicans, on the other hand, bring a well-worn, dog-eared, sticky-noted, and highlighted, Roberts Rules or Order.
Bingo. Though I think part of it is also that the Republicans don't care; so long as they get to retain their positions and profit off the people, they're just fine letting the Democrats democrat.
Too many Republicans over the years have *preferred* to be the minority party. They get the same pay, and nearly all of the perks and benefits, yet they don't have to work as hard. Just go on TV once in a while to criticize the majority party and collect donations from their conservative constituents. Those Republicans loathe guys such as Trump who threaten to upset their cozy sinecure.
Mistakes such as you have reported in many posts have to be addressed in the new constitution. Assuming we survive the revolution. Maybe I would suggest as George Washington did that there never be a "party" system.
I have made that statement many times over, but good luck getting the average American to understand that parties do not benefit the people - they only benefit themselves.
That's why, in my fantasy of a second revolution in America, the "second Constitution" must incorporate things such as the party system.
Oh, and btw, thanks for reminding me, "average American" has to be in the second Constitution. Some sort of proof of knowledge of the new Constitution.
But it's all a dream. We're in bad shape entering year 3+ of WWIII.
I'm fine with the idea of breaking up parties, except for the fact that it ends up being a shorthand way of identifying common interests before it becomes a vehicle for graft and fascism. The idea of a "second constitution" however is something I can't support; most of what troubles us can be solved by following the existing one, and because the Founders' generation was unequaled in history, the odds of something even half as good being created to replace it are exactly zero. It will look like something drafted at the UN than in Philadelphia in the 1780s.
Actually, we're currently on the "second constitution" (article to come). The first was the Articles of Confederation. The Constitution was intended to rectify deficiencies with the Articles of Confederation, but creating a central government led to centralization of power that was never intended. The anti-federalists were right to fear this outcome.
You're correct, of course, but I doubt, however, that the original articles would have been any less subject to corruption at the hands of a Wilson or a Roosevelt.
The republicans are week kneed with jelly fish spines and we need to clean house. When the Repubs went with the go along to get along, that was just the ticket the Dems needed to ramrod all this crap legislation through - who was going to stop them. And as you said Michael, if laws got in the way, screw that they just changed the law. After all who is there to stop them?
What Superb explanation and comparison between CCP and the DNC. Kinda backed into with the, " costly GOP errors" scenario but still worked pretty well. The only question remaining is how to get the ccp ideology out of the demobrat mentality so as to salvage what's left of our Constitution.
Get our manufacturing plants out of China and back to the US. That should improve employment and the economy, and should protect against the Chinese government taking over entire industries while we sleep.
YES, and YES.

It would be unseemly to do otherwise.
.. Democrats don't know what "unseemly" means.
