There is no logical endpoint to the progressive agenda except a world with far less human habitation, living a life Thomas Hobbes described as:
"Hereby it is manifest that during the time men live without a common Power to keep them all in awe, they are in that condition which is called War; and such a war as is of every man against every man. […] In such condition there is no place for Industry, because the fruit thereof is uncertain: and consequently no Culture of the Earth; no Navigation, nor use of the commodities that may be imported by Sea; no commodious Building; no Instruments of moving and removing such things as require much force; no Knowledge of the face of the Earth; no account of Time; no Arts; no Letters; no Society; and which is worst of all, continual Fear, and danger of violent death; And the life of man solitary, poor, nasty, brutish, and short.”
Their paganism has given way to a misanthropic Ludditism in which modern energy, the source of wondrous advances in global standards of living, are denied to all of those without sufficient riches and status.
Even the beasts of the field and fowl of the sky will suffer thorough lack of modern veterinary care, the standard of which is deployed from city backyards to gigantic commercial farms and ranches all across the fruited plain.
The policies of the progressives seek to return humans to a state which civilizations have fought for millennia to escape.
Of course, they style themselves as gods, immune to the suffering they cause.
Why would they not?
They live in a constancy of moral hazard, acting quite differently than if they were subject to the characteristics of those who feel the viper's sting of the policies they enact and the actions they take.
They expect to rule over a weak, cold and starving human race.
And yet, these Gaia worshipers are the ones who call the children of God evil.
I think many, like myself thought of Hobbes’ description of life was a punishment - but upon reconsideration, our lives are the punishment for not protecting and strictly adhering to our Constitution, the least restrictive “common Power” given to us by our Founding Fathers but upon reflection, the greatest punishment is that our lives become solitary (isolated from each other through the Internet), poor (in spirit, if not in wealth), nasty (social media – you have heard of Twitter, right?), brutish (remember Jefferson’s reference to “sinning and suffering”?), and LONG (the life expectancy in Hobbes’ time was around 35, we are over twice that today).
The second part of Hobbes’ quote is certainly true, we certainly seem to have entered a period where there is “no Knowledge of the face of the Earth; no account of Time; no Arts; no Letters; no Society; and which is worst of all, continual Fear, and danger of violent death.”
In another section of Chapter XIII, there is this – which I take as a warning (and a description of the progressive Democrats):
“Nature hath made men so equal in the faculties of body and mind as that, though there be found one man sometimes manifestly stronger in body or of quicker mind than another, yet when all is reckoned together the difference between man and man is not so considerable as that one man can thereupon claim to himself any benefit to which another may not pretend as well as he. For as to the strength of body, the weakest has strength enough to kill the strongest, either by secret machination or by confederacy with others that are in the same danger with himself.”
In my opinion, this was a warning about people like Biden, Schumer, Pelosi, Nadler, Schiff, and pretty much the entire Democrat leadership cadre. The “weakest has strength enough to kill the strongest, either by secret machination or by confederacy with others that are in the same danger with himself” certainly mirrors the Democrat push to crush former President Trump, whom they despise, by any means necessary.
This is the kind of stuff the Constitution was designed to prevent – but only when applied by people whose sensibilities not exclusively limited only “sinning and suffering” as long as they can be in charge…and Democrats prove, every day, that they are willing to destroy the Constitution and the Republic as long as they can rule over the ashes.
To them, I quote from Isaiah 5: 20-21:
"Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!
Woe unto them that are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight!"
The Christian Bible, while not respected by most as the Truth literally spoken by God, it does provide an accurate story of mankind's successes and failures. There are moral lessons to be learned by those that have an eye to see and an ear to hear.
Modern readers cannot stand to consider what Sodomism means: that offends their WOKE sensibilities. While we might laugh at the story of Noah, not least because of God's rationale for destroying mankind, it is no different than the story that exists in all cultures. In fact, geologist have proven, using the evidence of the Grand Canyon and the Sphinx of Cairo, that water did, in fact, cover the world at some ancient time.
The story of the Tower of Babel seems to have become relevant to our lives. While the politicians prepare for war and engage in espionage, while the scientists lie to people and poison us, those who hope to save humanity often find themselves speaking in words that no one can understand. We are coming to a time, if we haven't already, where people are unable to communicate or to understand their own thoughts.
Despite the words of liars like Ibram X. Kindi, Western Civilization WAS wonderful. It is a shame that the oligarchs who control us are so busy destroying it.
Let us pray.
Michael, it would seem you've spent time with Tucker and paid attention to his monologue last night:https://thephaser.com/2022/08/tucker-carlson-tonight-8-29-22-back-to-the-dark-ages/
