Turning Up The Heat
Parents all across America are publicly challenging progressive school boards - and winning. Public ridicule is a powerful tool, especially when the agendas are indefensible.
Thomas Sowell noted that what makes it so easy for the American political right is because their opposition makes it a practice not to define "the right" too tightly, preferring to assert a broad spectrum of membership.
Thomas Sowell wrote:
"What is called ‘the right’ are simply the various and disparate opponents of the left. These opponents of the left may share no particular principle, much less a common agenda, and they can range from free-market libertarians to advocates of monarchy, theocracy, military dictatorship or innumerable other principles, systems and agendas."
While a neo-Nazi skinhead has little in common with a gay black conservative, both are lumped in an extensive continuum. That confirms the left’s idea of collective guilt. We must look no further than any “mass” shooting and the speed with which the left runs to tie the shooter to some notion of the right wing to place the blame on its opposition. They will even go so far as to call a black person or some other member of a racial minority a “black white supremacist” or in the case of Asians, they are “white adjacent”, as of all whites are right wing. In the aftermath of the Harvard/UNC decision that purportedly ended race-based college admissions, Jemele Hill, a noted former ESPN host and racist, accused Asians who cheered the ruling of “carrying water for white supremacy.”
Whereas the definition of "the right" is purposefully ambiguous, the left can be defined succinctly. It is basically that group of people who seek to use government to plan, direct and execute the central planning and central control over every aspect of the national economic, public, and private life. Their agenda is defined by the desire to control everything, including words, deeds, and thoughts, via some sort of elite technocracy.
A tight definition would seem to be an advantage in focusing in on specific issues with the left, but it turns out not to be true.
The left claims a need for precise and accurate specificity, or they do not accept the challenges. If a leftist does something but the thing does not fit the dictionary definition of that thing, they accept no responsibility – as in “You know, communism has never been implemented correctly. We know how to do it right” or “Look, I voted for a tax cut in 1978, so I’m not a socialist”. Actually, they never accept responsibility for any of the damage they do, simply avoiding it when they can and when they can’t, redefining those actions as “successes” that you are just too ignorant to comprehend.
Holding them to account by exposing their excesses in public is the only way to win.
That is why parents are having such success in winning back school boards and control over the what children are being taught. What DeSantis has done in Florida, building a coalition of parents to push back the trans agenda and exposing the vileness of the pornographic literature the left seeks to use as seeds planted in the school libraries, even down to kindergarten. Parents all over the US are publicly exposing and embarrassing progressive members of local school boards all over America, and it isn’t just white parents – Muslims in Michigan, Asians in California and Hispanics in Texas are all speaking out and publicly shaming the left for policies that had been kept largely under the radar until parents saw what was going on, thanks to the teacher’s unions demanding schools be shut during the pandemic and a shift to on-line classes.
No doubt, the vision of classes held in the minds of parents were those of their own classes and teachers but looking over the shoulders of their children during the online sessions, revealed a shocking reality. Parents were horrified to find out what their children were being taught and who was teaching them.
Gone were the visions of matronly first grade teachers who looked like our own mothers, like my own Mrs. Ruth Jones, in classrooms sporting patriotic bulletin boards, American and state flags, and recitations of the Pledge of Allegiance replaced by twenty something, purple haired, tattooed, pierced, nose ringed, non-binary social justice warriors in classrooms adorned with Pride flags, BLM posters and collectivist propaganda posters.
Parents who had lived in complacency for years were shocked into action.
We aren’t there yet as a nation, but those classrooms are allegories for our country. Today’s America isn’t the America we knew, the one we grew up in, it is something different today, changed under the fog of our own complacency.
But the battle plan is the same.
Out them in public. Let them hang themselves because their agenda cannot be defended.
Libs of TikTok has been effective in using their own words and deeds against them, not trying to define them, but allowing them to define themselves.
We just need more of it.
We just need to turn up the heat.
Elephants are eaten a bite at a time. Reclaiming our Republic will be done in tiny deliberate steps everyday, every week. Laughter at those whose pronouncements like the one by the newest member of SCOTUS is effective ridicule.
Parents noticing, and doing something, is getting there, but so slowly. I just spent a good part of 3 days with a bunch of "CRT is not being taught in K-12" people, trying to explain what is meant, why it was noticed, how teachers are doing it, why it's bad for kids, piles of links, and so on.
These are the same leftists who yell "debunked" at everything because somebody told them it's only in law school.
The frustration of seeing seemingly intelligent adults believing I'm simply a right-wing racist, who doesn't want history taught, and have no clue what I'm talking about, is ridiculous. The only way they'll get it is when it hits them square in the face. Maybe.
