Jerry Brown, former nepo baby governor of California (son of California governor Edmund G. “Pat” Brown), failed Senate candidate, three time failed presidential candidate, and former boyfriend of Linda Ronstadt, said of the media reporting:
"Reporters want to fan the flames of conflict leading to war because they’re so damn stupid. That is my belief of your profession.”
If it weren't so tragic, one might consider it at least a little bit funny.
Objectively viewed, the "media" is solidly on the Democrat team, minimizing Democrat failures while loudly calling out the Republicans for noticing them, and biting their tongues and sitting on their hands when it is impossible to report accurately because it reflects badly on their progressive teammates.
But the one enduring/endearing characteristic of the media is that it is truly mindless.
Ignorant of history. Incapable of understanding only a very small fragment of what they report and not at all capable of comprehending what their reporting is going to look like a couple of moves on the chessboard later.
Ben Rhodes, campaign van driver and one time senior advisor to Obama, hit the nail on the head when he was quoted saying:
"All these newspapers used to have foreign bureaus. Now they don’t. They call us to explain to them what’s happening in Moscow and Cairo. Most of the outlets are reporting on world events from Washington. The average reporter we talk to is 27 years old, and their only reporting experience consists of being around political campaigns. That’s a sea change. They literally know nothing."
And because it is mindless, it only reports what it has been conditioned to report, if it sounds like it will hurt the GOP, they go all in. The media has been coddled and praised so much by Democrats, they actually think they are doing all of this on their own and sometimes they try to go in to the wild unsupervised. It often doesn't go well for Democrats when their propaganda arm tries to do some independent journalisming.
As evidence, lately there has been some stray voltage and some of the reporting has accidentally been harmful to the Biden Regime.
I've noticed a smidge of criticism of the media coming from Democrats. Lately, when questioning Biden's age or mental state or when they happen to accurately report about Israel or Ukraine, the information isn't very helpful to Democrats - and that isn't supposed to happen.
Collateral damage, as it were. Self inflicted wounds. Shooting themselves in the foot. Accidentally telling the truth.
It is funny to watch the Democrats huff and puff in their self-righteousness and then try to get the media to hide it with "fact checks" when they get caught with their hands in the proverbial cookie jar.
They have been switching the narrative from journalism to just plain reporting over the past few decades. Reporting, the new moniker for what was once called Journalism, is appropriate given what Ben Rhodes commented about the profession. And in fact, I do not think we can even call it a profession any longer, because this new moniker tells us it is just a job, or really when it's all said and done it is just a task.
They have abandoned any concepts of objectivity or of fair reporting.
