I can't help but saying that anyone who thinks Joe Biden is, or ever has been, "honorable, fair and moderate" has a tenuous connection to reality. By accounts, Biden has been a nasty, self-centered, self-aggrandizing boor, with his malevolence hiding just beneath his thin skin.
I and others have made the point that Joe never expected to run or be president after he knew Obama was going to back Hillary, so he went for the gold in Ukraine from 2014 on because he needed to pad the retirement account. Biden thought his goose was cooked after his dalliance with his bestie, Obama.
He had failed several times to capture enough of the Democrat imagination for a nomination, brought low by one flaw or another, so he figured he had gone as far as he was ever going to go as a septuagenarian Vice President - and that is why, under Obama, he grabbed as much cash possible from any source available.
A few facts as I see them:
Joe Biden never expected to be president or to even run for president.
They all expected Hillary to win, Madame Cankles NeverPresident was so confident, she didn’t bother campaigning in key states. It wasn’t incompetence, it was just good old-fashioned arrogance.
Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition, and none of them expected Trump to win in 2016.
They expected the intel/obstruction operations Obama and Biden put in motion would kill any GOP threat for the next 20 years.
They kept Trump busy fighting “investigations” until 2020 and when the Democrat slate was so awful, they realized they needed to pull Basement Joe out of mothballs. They knew Bide would be so appreciative (or mentally decline so quickly), he would do whatever he was told.
The Democrats leadership knew Biden had to be installed or else all the Democrat/Deep State machinations would come to light.
But the one thing they didn’t count on was Biden Family Values. They didn’t count on Biden’s propensity to think he was really the President rather than a president.
Now that the “I never talked to my son about his international business deals” narrative is falling apart, CNN is trying to sell the idea that Hunter was using his dad, claiming that Hunter was selling the “illusion of access” when reality leans more to the father using the son.
“Hunter is the bad guy, but can we please have some sympathy for people with addictions?” asks CNN.
Sounds extreme?
Just remember that “family man Joe” is a proven liar, helped orchestrate the Russia hoax, and ignored a granddaughter, putting up a stocking at Christmas for their Secret Service chomping dog instead of her, and never mentioning her until forced to when polls showed it was hurting him politically.
I just don’t think it isn’t much of a stretch to believe that a career politician like Joe and his opportunistic wife, Dr. Jill, would see Hunter as trouble, the bad seed. Worthless all his miserable life and desperate to prove himself after finishing second to Beau in the Biden family love sweepstakes, at least he could be used for something profitable. Hunter was drug addled, sex-addicted, crook and ne'er do well, already headed to a career as a jail house lawyer, so it isn’t much of a stretch to think the heads of the Biden family saw that the was expendable. If he went down, he was already going down, so no biggie. Plausible deniability would lead to more sympathy for the Big Guy.
C’mon, fat. No joke. On my word as a Biden.
Is it really that hard to believe that Joe knew precisely what was happening, was in on the con, but never intended to deliver anything in the first place?
I don’t think so.
Maybe Hunter was getting conned when he thought he had conned dear ole dad. Joe Biden’s career has been based on a single long con, so he’s no stranger to the big switcheroo. Given Joe’s history, it isn’t too far afield to believe Honest Joe would fib a bit if it profited him, and if the entire thing went tits up, Scranton Joey’s defense would be “I didn’t know” and “I never did anything” and Hunter was the ready-made fall guy.
There is a reason Al Capone finally got pinched by the revenuers for tax evasion – they couldn’t tie him to the theft, extortion, murder, and general mayhem others were doing on his behalf.
Same with Joe.
Hasn’t changed since his first conviction as a plagiarist.
It reminds me of the old saying - how can you tell when a politician is lying? Their lips are moving.
