For the past several months, I have been consuming every bit of data from the pandemic to which I have access - and there is a lot of it out there, presented in enough ways to make it almost indecipherable, so much so, much of the chaos seems intentional.
It is interesting to also go back and sample the papers that were produced, and the TV interviews given, during 2020 to see how truly selective the memory of media and the politicians really is. The completely irrational and contradictory positions of Trump rallies being superspreader events while BLM/ANTIFA protests were not, a position that seemed comical when they were announced, did not get any better with time. Killing small businesses while big box stores and Amazon profited simply made no sense, and we all knew it. On top of that, we have had so much contradictory information from Fauci, the NIH, CDC and WHO for their credibility to be approaching zero, and the jackbooted "take the vaccine, you damn dirty apes" approach of the Biden administration is not really boosting confidence.
I have been comparing various data sets on the “pandemic” and I think I am seeing one thing that pops out – when you filter for the comorbidities, conditions that put patients at risk no matter the additional respiratory illness, the infection death rates for Covid-19 drop precipitously. There are a very, very small percentage of “unexplained” deaths – people with no underlying conditions that tragically passed away, but overall, there is a picture forming of a combination of conditions that create the worst risk profile.
The more the data is sliced and filtered, the more a different picture from that promoted by the “experts” as gospel emerges.
I am no statistics expert, I only have a layman’s toolkit, but I am close to the point of saying that the data suggests that nothing we did (masks, lockdowns, social distancing) influenced Covid death rates. The picture I see emerging is one that would have supported focusing on isolating high-risk people, the elderly, people with compromised immune systems and people with significant risk factors due to pre-existing conditions, rather than virtually quarantining healthy, disease resistant people. Hard to deny that is something that we intuitively knew would work, especially since that procedure has been employed for every other prior epidemic and pandemic.
It appears that the only legitimate advancement in this entire pandemic has been the development of the vaccines – and even then, the rhetoric surrounding them is dubious and we still do not know the true effectiveness and the long-term effects of their use.
I never feared the virus. I am not irrational, I am 62 after all – but I am healthy, in good shape with no underlying conditions (as I understand it, being an ass is not a valid comorbidity) but I opted to take the Moderna vaccine because, under these conditions, I did not see a significant risk. My wife and I did it for her dad, who has been fighting cancer for the past year and has a compromised immune system.
But it is looking more and more that all this chaos was manufactured.
We have been had, folks.
It is not that the virus is not a risk, our reaction to it was excessive, authoritarian, and unnecessary.
And our ruling class learned the wrong lesson from all of it.
