We all know logic is based on the cascade of inquiry that starts with the simple proposition that a thing either is, or it is not. We first ask that question, which leads us to another question and another until we have reduced the original inquiry to a point of certainty where the outcome can be proven true or false.
Logic is the process by which we can determine whether a conclusion is true or false, starting from a population of premises. Logic is not “truth” in and of itself, it is a process by which we seek to find the truth.
But the process of logic can be misused, and horribly so. Perhaps there is no better example of this misuse than the “oppressor/oppressed” dichotomous ideology burning through American society like a wildfire. I call it the O/O Dynamic (mostly because I get tired of typing the full thing).
Somewhere over the last couple of decades or so - maybe coming of the new millennium did it or it was the release in 1999 of the first Matrix movie, the American left went full Looney Tunes and decided reality just wasn’t really their thing. It was too dull. Too rigid. It didn’t give closure, or it didn’t give them the answers they wanted. Sometimes the outcomes weren’t “right” (right being defined as a match to their worldview where they are the good guys).
In a precursor to AI generated “life”, they started to make stuff up.
Take the case of a pioneer of this process, the Little Indian Who Could.
In using this AI/Matrix mindset, it turns out that even a blond, blue-eyed, whey-faced, slice of white bread like Elizabeth Warren, could be hired by Harvard as an American Indian, though the proportion of Cherokee in her bloodline was just 1 in 32 parts. When Fauxcohontas saw she could become whatever race she wanted to be, she parlayed the Harvard gig into a Senate run. I guess MawSquaw was an early adopter of identity politics and if it weren’t so early in the descent to madness, she might have claimed to be an American Indian man. Of, course it worked - Lieawatha has now been a Senatrix for two terms and other than conservatives joking about it, she has never been held accountable in any meaningful way for lying.
Obama was also an early thought leader in the O/O Dynamic, making up a “composite girlfriend” who could advance the plot of his book the way he wanted it to go.
In saner times, we would have simply called this what it is – lying – but not today. Harvard just redefined plagiarism to protect their Affirmative Action diversity hire president, Claudine Gay, from charges that are clearly factual and true. Its not that she didn’t do it, it is that she, according to Harvard, “…is the right leader to help our community heal and to address the very serious societal issues we are facing”.
Which really makes one wonder just what kind of leader Harvard needs and what their mission is, because it sure doesn't seem to be education.
That kind of redefinition of reality – and its acceptance by the radical left (an apathetic public) – has led to the oppressor/oppressed dynamic we see today.
By wholly diluting the meaning of “oppressor” and “oppressed”, literally anyone can be oppressed or be the oppressor. To be oppressed, one must only be exposed to ideas they don’t like, and to be an oppressor, one simply needs to express disfavored ideas (or simply be a member of a disfavored class or race).
Obama, Lieawatha, Caroline Gay, despite of their high positions, fit nicely into the “oppressed” category. Everyone else is an oppressor, and we all know oppressors are evil.
The root of this seems to be to be when seeking to explain their lack of success, societal mobility, and meaningful achievement in the face of the objective success of productive members of society and individual self-determination, the O/O Dynamisists are incapable of coming to terms with their own limitations; therefore, must construct an alternative explanation for their lack of tangible value to society through a system of pseudo-logic.
Simone de Beauvoir said:
“All oppression creates a state of war.”
Curiously, that holds true for creating a false sense of oppression.
My granddaddy used to tell me “Son, if you start bad, you will end bad”.
What B.T. Goodwin was teaching me on the front porch of our Mississippi home place was a lesson in logic. It was a lesson true in everything from organic chemistry to carpentry, that everything that flows from a false premise will necessarily be false.
This will end bad.
I wish the word “end” were a reality. It does need to end elsewhere we will fly in planes engineered and flown by incompetents chosen for melanin content or whether they have indoor or outdoor plumbing and how they use it.
In the 80s I worked for a Big 8 accounting firm. Even then the diversity schtick was being used to hire and promote. Previously they expanded to hiring women but believe me the standards were still rigid. I was the only woman hired out of 14 new staff. But in an effort to get the mighty whiteys out of the majority AA hired a couple of POCs. A look at their resumes indicated the standards had dropped both with respect to their GPA and their focus on accounting classes. They were disasters, totally unable to do the most elementary work. I was assigned a very kind Persian man. I tried and tried to help him but it was like a teacher taking the hand of a child to help him print. Finally I asked him what we could do to help him succeed. He said “I hate accounting! I just can’t do it.” We were able to help him transition to a new career in foreign service where his language skills were prized.
Hiring incompetent or uneducated people is a disaster for them, for their co workers and it could get someone killed. Yet the Progressives continue apace as if doubling down on stupid will eventually succeed.
It has been written in the Bible - that in the last days - those who teach tell it as the truth when they know it is a lie. Could we actually be in the end times? For me in some ways I hope so, and in others I do not. There is way too much corruption, greed, crime, and lies that I personally would like it to end.
It does not matter to the powerful what they say or do, who they hurt, who they have to step on or put down to achieve their goals. For them the ends do indeed justify the means. And the powerful, so-called elite, are not hiding it either. For example, Harry Ried - I lied about Romney, but he didn't win - did he. Obama - if you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor.
How many lies were told about Brett Kavanaugh during his nomination for SC Judge? What about Clarance Thomas? Then you have all the various 'Gates' that were uttered about Trump - main one coming to mind is Russia-gate and the total fabrication that was. There are sooo many lies told on capitol hill that I doubt they even know what the truth is anymore.
It is all about power and $$$$. They will do, say and cause anything they want in order to get their way. And like spoiled kids they need to be punished. And it looks like it's now up to the Almighty to hand out that punishment where us mere mortals have failed to do so. And if that means the coming about of End Times - then so be it.
