Something tells me we are about to find out that violence when trying to influence a constitutional proceeding isn’t going to be so “insurrectiony” as it was a year or so ago.
There is no constitutional right to an abortion, there never has been. Roe was decided based on a desire to create such a “right” rather than confirm a right that was already there. The liberals on the court wanted to enshrine abortion in law, and knowing that if left to the states, where it should have always been, some states would prevent all forms of abortion by the choice of their people.
There is a reason all “logic” flowing from a false premise is always false.
Dan Bongino must have a crystal ball because he used a simple, yet brilliant, example in his podcast yesterday. In explaining how the left is consistent and reliable, but consistent and reliably wrong, he invoked an example of a set of bathroom scales that are ten pounds off. If you really weigh 120, it says you weigh 110. If you really weigh 230, it shows you weigh 220. It always weighs you 10 pounds lighter than you are.
You may like that, but you are simply fooling yourself and when you go to get your physical and step on the scales at your doctor’s office and find out you are heavier than you thought, reality hits you like a brick.
Let’s face it - most of the time, you already know you are heavier (or at least strongly suspect it). Your clothes don’t fit as well, you must ease out another notch on your belt – but you prefer the illusion the wrong number on the scale provides to the reality.
The point being that your scales are consistent and reliable, but consistently and reliably wrong.
Correcting your weight and your perspective hurts. To get to the real number requires throwing your favorite scale in the rubbish bin, you must to work out more and eat better, two things that you may not want to do.
That correction is the penalty for believing something that is false.
Such is the case with Roe, Casey and every other policy and law flowing from it.
A lot of the anger coming from the pro-abortion crowd is that, deep down, they know Roe was wrong, but the imprimatur of the Supreme Court allowed them to believe they were right, that killing a child in the womb is nothing more than “health care”.
Roe has been a linchpin for progressive reasoning for half a century, pulling that pin is going to have a ripple effect far beyond the abortion question. Rather than having 9 black robed shamans decide the issue, both sides will be forced to debate the issue themselves, in the public square and in the legislatures of each state. The left doesn’t like open debate (as evidenced by the hysteria over Musk’s purchase of Twitter and the creation of the Orwellian “Disinformation Board” helmed by Nina “Scary Poppins” Jankowicz).
This leak is wrong, too.
Everything flowing from it will be wrong – and since abortion is the sacrament of the liberal religion, this won’t be taken well. The abortion proponents just found out their clothes didn’t shrink in the dryer, they really are ten pounds heavier than they the wanted to believe.
And they won’t take it well. Not because they know it, because YOU do.
Who gains from it?
The right and the anti-abortion forces surely do not.
I assume it came from someone working for the liberal wing – but after Justice Roberts bent reality and twisted words to keep Obamacare alive, you can never be sure.
My perspective is that Alito, Thomas, Kavanaugh, Gorsuch and Barrett have nothing to gain from such a leak. It helps them in no way.
There is zero chance Breyer, Sotomayor, Kagan voted in favor of an overturn – my guess is that Roberts is the 4th vote in a 5-4 decision, along with the libs on the court, to sustain Roe and Casey. Roberts has revealed himself to be a political actor, one concerned about the bad publicity the court will get over an overturn of Roe – even if he supported the arguments of the majority, he would vote to narrow the decision to avoid the hammer blow that a 6-3 decision would be.
This is all about crushing the right wing of the Court in the media for the sole purpose of maintaining power. The left is desperately looking for something to rally their rabies infested base to stave off the Republican electoral wave that most think is coming, and there is no institution they aren’t willing to destroy in pursuit of that power.
The Supreme Court is certainly no exception. Since the balance of the court switched back to traditional interpretation of the Constitution, the Democrats have been working relentlessly to delegitimize the Court and to find a way to sanction it as a political body, a mini super-legislature.
This was an unavoidable fight that was accelerated the minute President Trump and Cocaine Mitch seated conservative, constitutionalist justices on the Court.
Whether the leak came from the right or the left, I want to see the perpetrator found and made to suffer the greatest penalty allowed by law. One side will see this person (or persons) as a hero, the other a villain – but regardless of our perspective, whoever they are, they have done lasting damage to the Supreme Court.
Hopefully, the FBI will begin to act like a law enforcement agency and investigate who illegally leaked the Supreme Court information. There is no question that it was done in order to incite the mobs of pro-abortionists, to intimidate the conservative judges on the Bench, and to endanger our system of government. Whether it was one of Sotomeyer's politically active law clerks or Sotomeyer herself who leaked this, it is noteworthy that it has never happened before in our history and someone must be punished.
Abortion is a sacrament in the new left / democrat religion. What better way to activate the democrat voters to come out in waves (plus there will be marches and maybe even riots) before the midterms? This is all about the midterms. The “leak” is a distraction. And a test balloon to see how fast they can gin up the democrat voters and women.
