Redneck Philosophizing
There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your Mississippi redneck philosophy.
A few reality checks followed by some Mississippi Redneck philosophy from a graduate of the Mississippi Public Education System:
The reality:
Fire burns. If it is not put out, it will continue to burn until there is nothing left to burn.
Severe storms destroy - hurricanes, tornadoes, massive thunderstorms - they all destroy and even if you are prepared, they will not stop.
Fire doesn't care if you are a pansexual, transgender, handi-capable, Latinx person of color - nor do hurricanes, tornadoes, or massive thunderstorms. You will get what they give and suffer the consequences of your preparation - or lack thereof - just like everybody else who believes in a natural, heteronormative, procreative existence and wants and loves their kids.
Let me repeat that once more for those of you in in Rio Linda.
THEY. DO. NOT. CARE. These elements of nature can't care because nature is not human and it follows only one law - its own. Nature has no feelings, no emotional intelligence, it does not use preferred pronouns, it does not worry what you think about any of it and nature’s actions can't be argued with, bargained with, appealed or overturned. Nature doesn't do kindness or half-measures.
The philosophizing:
The fact is that we are all equal only three times in our lives, 1) when we are born, 2) when we die, and 3) when we meet at the cold face of nature (or in front of God, if you prefer. I see no difference).
All of human life is like that. Only in temporary illusions are things any different - There is a word for those temporary illusions - I would call them theater. I would have said it was "delusion" but there are more out there in the world who are pretending to be deluded than there actually suffering from them. To them, it's about owning the other side - whomever is on that other side.
But the theater will stop.
All things that can't go on forever will stop.
One day, at some unknown hour, the balance will slip and we will all wind up at that cold face - the Bible refers to that as "tribulation". It may be a natural disaster, a virus that escapes from some unknown Chinese lab, Bill Gates succeeds in buying up all the farm land and forces us to eat lab grown meat, or Galactic Space Monkeys from Pluto land (who are pissed their planet was demoted and then mocked by Neil DeGrasse Tyson) and they are armed to the teeth but whatever it is, we will all meet it individually or collectively.
And the fires will burn and the storms will rage until there is nothing left to fuel them.
Some will face reality, find value and strength in what they believe and know and survive, some will continue to act in their theater and won't. The latter will find out how false and empty their lives have been - too late.
As the kiddies say, that is the real.

Conservatives report and discus the world as it is.
Liberals report and discus the world as they wish it was.....
One uses critical thinking while the other delves in emotional thinking.
Reality requires being fiercely brave. Hence the reason why so many avoid it.
