Propaganda, Agitprop and Self-Fulfilling Prophecies
The reaction of the enemedia to this pandemic is the textbook definition of a self-fulfilling prophecy - this is Vietnam 2.0.
They constantly focus on every misstep, ignore any success and hammer the twin narratives of distrust and failure 24/7/365.
And then they act surprised when people distrust the administration because they believe it has failed.
Propaganda and agitprop work, folks. That's why they are used to shape public opinion.
There is a big difference between the missteps of this administration on its way to success and the incompetence of the former administration that never led to anything but maintenance of the status quo at best or disaster at the worst.
To those who scream "we should have known about this earlier!" - I want to remind everybody how, under the watchful eyes of President Barack Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, the Chinese dismantled America's intel efforts in China by systematically hunting and killing every single human intelligence (humint) asset in that country,.
How did that happen, you might ask?
According to investigations it was through careless handling of communications:
"...it appears that the agency botched the communication system it used to interact with its sources, according to five current and former intelligence officials. The CIA had imported the system from its Middle East operations, where the online environment was considerably less hazardous, and apparently underestimated China’s ability to penetrate it."
We also know it is highly likely that the Chinese had breached Hillary's bathroom email server, so one may draw whatever conclusion from that one chooses.
Humint network and infrastructures (boots on the ground) take decades to develop and validate but can be destroyed overnight. If the media really wanted to understand how America gets surprised by situations in, and information from, China, look no further than the destruction of our humint network under Obama and Clinton.
