Too few people are stating the obvious that stupidity, rather than malice, is the root of today's foreign and domestic policy.
It is hard to pin down exactly why American Democrats cannot comprehend the damage they are doing (and have done) since they were overcome by an ideology that is a mix of collectivism and identitarianism. I can’t say for sure, I’m neither an academician nor historian, but in my reckoning, the first real Alinskyite personalization of national politics came during the 1964 presidential elections when Barry Goldwater, the Republican candidate, was explicitly attacked as a racist.
Never mind that at the same time Goldwater was campaigning, Democrats were fighting against the Civil Rights Act and the newly elected Alabama governor, Democrat George Wallace, was giving his “Segregation Forever” speech. The fact is that without the leadership of Republican Everett Dirksen and unanimous Republican support, the Civil Rights Act of 1964 would never have passed.
Herb Stein’s Law says that if something cannot go on forever, it will stop.
One wonders when America recognizes that the Democrat onslaught against reason and truth will stop.
Democrats strive to create “equity” by reducing overall capability and excellence. I just read an article at American Thinker that referenced how a couple of decades ago, the North Miami police department eliminated the swimming requirement for the police even though North Miami has hundreds of miles of canals, lakes, and beaches.
Why would a necessary life-saving skill be eliminated?
It had nothing to do with wasting time and effort on a necessary skill, it was that “blacks are less likely than whites to know how to swim because of economic disparities between the groups…” We see this all the time today, when some qualification, even in our public schools, is troublesome and can be ascribed to race or socioeconomic status, rather than accepting the challenge to bring people up to a standard, the standard is just eliminated.
In the name of equity, of course.
The Durham Report has brough the Russian collusion hoax back to a boil after simmering for a few years since the Mueller investigation ended in a dead cat bounce.
The central allegation was that “the Russians” conspired with the Trump campaign to influence an election and damage America.
Looking back at the Democrat sponsored paralysis of government, the political brinkmanship, the subterfuge, and the pointless and baseless investigations, impeachments and legal warfare that have been a primary feature of American political life since Hillary, Obama, Biden and the career Deep Staters at the DOJ and State Department decided that Orange Man Bad, one must believe Putin is smiling.
The inaction during the Bush administration (directly related to a Democrat political tactic to create war fatigue in America) to the Russian invasion of Georgia, the subsequent failure of Obama to respond to Putin’s takeover of Crimea, Obama’s colossal “red line” disaster in Syria, followed up by Victoria Nuland’s “Color Revolution” in Ukraine led directly to today’s proxy war with Russia.
By the way, that war brought about US sanctions on Russia that had the opposite effect. Within months of the imposition of sanctions, Russia raked in billions upon billions of US dollars due to increasing energy prices. This war has cost the American taxpayer trillions in untraceable spending, something that continues today while President Zelenskyy panhandles from the front covers of allegedly prestigious magazines.
Way to go Brandon.
Yet no single Democrat has ever stopped to ask themselves (or criticize their party leadership) about how their actions, both foreign and domestic, have delivered far better results for America’s enemies, Russia and Putin included, could have ever expected.
Not to be excluded, too many Republicans are ignoring the past because they are secretly embarrassed that Donald Trump exposed their “go along to get along” complacency.
Dietrich Bonhoeffer wrote:
“Stupidity is a more dangerous enemy of the good than malice. One may protest against evil; it can be exposed and, if need be, prevented by use of force. Evil always carries within itself the germ of its own subversion in that it leaves behind in human beings at least a sense of unease. Against stupidity we are defenseless. Neither protests nor the use of force accomplishes anything here; reasons fall on deaf ears; facts that contradict one’s prejudgment simply need not be believed – in such moments the stupid person even becomes critical – and when facts are irrefutable, they are just pushed aside as inconsequential, as incidental. In all this the stupid person, in contrast to the malicious one, is utterly self-satisfied and, being easily irritated, becomes dangerous by going on the attack. For that reason, greater caution is called for when dealing with a stupid person than with a malicious one. Never again will we try to persuade the stupid person with reasons, for it is senseless and dangerous.”
In my mind, I see a graph with two lines – one representing malice and the other representing stupidity. To extend Bonhoeffer’s point, malice takes energy to sustain, stupidity generates its own. At some point, malice begins to fade and is overtaken by stupidity.
We passed that intersection a while back.
Now everything is powered by pure stupid.
One of the reasons that the American education system has failed is that it graduates lots of people who learned nothing while in school and can't read the diplomas they are handed. Core Democrat voters and true believers in the lies they are fed by the politicians they elect. Thus all Blacks are "victims" in the only country in the West that has elected a Black man as President.
"Stupid is as stupid does." - Forest Gump. But what should also have been added is ...But Malice takes intent'. And with that said - it's clear that the Dems have intent on causing harm by ruining this country.
What has become ever clearer is that they need to go, every last one of them. My question is - how do you fight against the evil that will lie, cheat and steal the election? Well, my first thought is that we need to do the same. My only concern is that we do not have the cajónes to do it, at least we have not shown it to date.
It's time to man-up, leather-up, and whatever other 'up' we need to do to fix this now. Be it voting straight 'R' at the voting polls, and/or further taking back the local school board, town boards, etc. We need to do it now, or forever more hold our peace!
