Planet of the Apes

Life imitates art.

There are quite a few articles being written about how the American “elite” have lost their minds.

I don’t disagree insanity plays a role, but if you trace it back, they have always been about, doing pretty much what they are doing today – calling for censorship, reduction in liberty and claiming to be the only ones smart enough to rule. They just kind of kept it on the down low, comfortable to gradually gain ground while skulking in the dark.

The difference today is that they lost their cover.

In the post WWII years, the American Soviets had not only support from the Russians and their Soviet bloc countries, but they also had cover because when there is an eight-hundred-pound gorilla in the jungle, nobody worries about a shrewdness of fifty-pound chimpanzees (“shrewdness” is what a group of apes is called, who knew?).

America was too preoccupied with rebuilding the post-WWII world, focused on building NATO and countering the USSR, their expansionist desires, and their nuclear capability to seriously notice a few annoying simians swinging from the academic vines in the faculty lounges of the Ivy League schools.

Then came Reagan.

Of course, the chimps hate Reagan for being a conservative and a Republican, but most of the vitriol directed at him is because he destroyed the old Soviet Union, and with the big gorilla gone, the chimps lost their cover.

At least for a while – until they found the Democrat Party.

The chimps hid for a while in the Democrat herd of jackasses, but chimps are smarter than jackasses, and it was just a matter of time before people started to notice the chimps weren’t just running with this herd, they had taken over control of the jackass herd and were driving them in a certain direction. At some point, the chimps mounted up and began to gee and haw their way toward the chimp agenda.

This is Planet of the Apes in real time.

Now the charade is over.

Even some of the jackasses are noticing that these Soviet chimps are driving the herd toward antisemitism, anti-Americanism, anti-reality, anti-constitutionalism, propaganda, and authoritarianism. Even the jackasses are noticing the difference between the simian and equine. They are beginning to notice the chimps are protesting and harassing not only the conservatives but liberals as well, mostly for not being sufficiently chimptasticly radical.

Sort of an Animal Farm situation – four legs good, two legs bad.

Except this time, the two-legged chimps are really, really bad.

There are not many, but there are a few of the smarter donkeys splitting away from the herd – not going in their own direction just yet, but at least moving out to the edges of the thundering herd.

Will other jackasses follow? Or do they hate conservatives on the right too much to admit they have a monkey on their back (and that monkey has a Josef Stalin haircut).

I hope they can shake that monkey. This monkey is rabid, it is wild eyed, crazy and demented, only looking for its next hit of power to keep the high going.

Old school liberals loved this country, they just had a different idea of what we should be doing for our people.

I guess time will tell if the Democrats notice they have been taken over by the old Soviet Union.

Like I said, real Planet of the Apes sort of stuff.
