Often Wrong, but Never in Doubt
The rationale of the Biden administration is based on progressivism first, reality last.
Something shared between collectivist governments like those in the old USSR and the Biden administration is that both entities make decisions based on compliance with ideology first and reality second, if at all.
If you look at all of Biden’s cabinet secretaries, each and every one make decisions and policy based on progressive ideology. From the immigration and economic policy to energy and transportation policy, the very first impulse is to align with progressive ideology regardless of the facts on the ground – and when those policies fail, the facts are blamed, not the ideology.
Gas prices are a perfect example, when prices go down (for completely explainable market reasons), Biden’s actions are given credit – but when prices go up (again for completely explainable market reasons), the market is blamed.
Why?
Because progressive ideology can never be wrong, even when it is.
This often results in the most ridiculous, logically disconnected reasoning when the progressives search for causal factors for issues.
Racist highways.
“Corporate greed” is solely responsible for rising prices (Robert Reich blamed Big Egg).
The GOP saying the open border is open causing illegal immigration.
Crime is a function of law enforcement, not criminals.
A man becomes a woman simply by saying it.
Only white people can be racist.
Every one of which is demonstrably false – and yet the progressives believe them without reservation.
Because nothing progressive is wrong – ever.
The Stalin and his Soviet government faced a manmade famine largely due to the lies of one man.
Trofim Lysenko.
Most people are at least aware of the Holodomor, the Stalin era famine in Ukraine that ultimately took an estimated 20 million lives, but few know that was just the beginning. Famines continued in post-WWII Soviet Russia and in Mao’s China, largely due to the “settled science” based the policies of Lysenko. Lysenko and Stalin had somewhat of a bromance going on, and as such, Lysenko increased his influence and power as he rose within the government, ultimately becoming director of the Institute of Genetics within the USSR’s Academy of Sciences.
But there was one real problem – Lysenko’s theories had no actual basis in science or reality. He rejected genetic science based on the findings of Gregor Mendel because they were too reactionary or idealist. Lysenko did not believe genes or DNA existed. Noted British biologist S. C. Harland opined Lysenko was “completely ignorant of the elementary principles of genetics and plant physiology”.
Mao adopted Lysenko’s “science” in 1958, an act leading directly to the Great Chinese Famine that lasted from 1959 to 1962. All in all, Lysenko’s “science” contributed to the deaths of an estimated 30-40 million people in the Soviet Union and China.
And yet, because Lysenko tailored his “science” to satisfy his masters and his masters considered their collectivist logic infallible, the crop failures were both hidden and overlooked and Lysenko accumulated enough power to imprison, execute or starve to death anyone who disagreed with him, most notably Nikolai Vavilov, a former mentor, who starved to death in prison in 1943.
It should come as no surprise, that Lysenko’s influence and power declined significantly after Stalin died in 1953 and it was safe to speak the truth about the famines and the causes for them.
Lysenko’s purges and pseudo-science set Soviet biology and agronomy back a full half century.
Lysenko’s lies exist today in the form of transgenderism, blaming white supremacy and racism for everything, that “corporate greed” causes economic issues more so than bad policy, and ignoring centuries of history in favor of believing in an ideology that exists in direct contradiction to reality.
Thank goodness, realty has a way of fighting for survival even when attempts are made to drown it in a sea of propaganda and agitprop.
This is what you get when they grow up eating Lucky Charms, smoking the finest Colombian, sequestered in higher learning pods of illusion where Never a Reality check appears, and the music of Unicorn Rainbow Farts is all they ever hear.
They are drunk on the certainty of ignorance.
They attempt to remake the world to their liking. Seemingly unaware the world as it exists does so through trillions of actions. They think they can write a rule and change it. Easy peasy.
