Tyrannical regimes cannot abide satire and manufacturing crimes out of nothing because they can't is unfair and unconstitutional.

Douglass Mackey, a 33-year-old Trump supporter, was just convicted of election interference and faces up to ten years in prison, all because of a meme he tweeted during the 2016 election. Mackey was charged immediately after Biden was inaugurated – 4 years after the alleged “interference” for posting a stupid meme that anyone with two functioning brain cells would recognize as satire.

Kristina Wong, that’s who.

On election day in 2016, Kristina tweeted a video of a Trump supporter with the caption: “Hey Trump Supporters! Skip poll lines at #Election2016 and TEXT in your vote! Text votes are legit. Or vote tomorrow on Super Wednesday!”

Kristina was never contacted by Lavrentiy Pavlovich Beria’s Merrick Garland’s corrupt DOJ, much less prosecuted, and her November 8, 2016 tweet is still live.

She did the same thing Douglass Mackey did, and yet Mackey is looking at a felony conviction and possibly a decade in prison.

The difference is not in the action, but in who it purportedly helped or harmed. Mackey supported Trump; Wong supported Hillary.

It seems an impossible leap to believe what Mackey did constitutes “election interference” - but even if you believe what Mackey did was wrong, there is just no possible way an objective person could look at his case and the fact that someone else did precisely the same thing and believe his conviction was fair under the law.

Just as Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg has done to President Trump, Garland’s DOJ manufactured a crime of which to convict Douglass Mackey.

So, where do we turn when all the institutions are corrupt, have chosen sides and no longer protect our Constitutional rights? Where do we go when justice is arbitrary, capricious, and clearly unequal?

In the past, that was the legal system and the courts but that is lost to us today. Judges and jury pools are hopelessly politicized and have no concept of equality under the law or innocent until proven guilty.

The only entity with the power to change our trajectory is the people themselves. When all is corrupt, there is nothing left but the people.

America is in dire need of a revival – spiritual and intellectual.

History proves time and again that there is indissoluble relationship between liberty and character. Character, being an indispensable ingredient, is an absolute precursor, a necessary precondition, of a free society.

Yesterday, I posted this quote from Edmund Burke:

"All who have ever written on government are unanimous that among a people generally corrupt, liberty cannot long exist."

Many have heard that quote without knowing that it came from a powerful speech Burke delivered in Parliament. He noted that while Kings (presidents for us) were responsible for ruin, they couldn’t do it without the people around them:

“Kings are naturally lovers of low company. They are so elevated above all the rest of mankind that they must look upon all their subjects as on a level. They are rather apt to hate than to love their nobility, on account of the occasional resistance to their will…It must, indeed be admitted that many of the nobility are as perfectly willing to act the part of flatterers, tale-bearers, parasites, pimps, and buffoons, as any of the lowest and vilest of mankind can possibly be…The Roman emperors, almost from the beginning, threw themselves into such hands; and the mischief increased every day till the decline and final ruin of the empire.”

When will things change?

I’ll tell you when things will change, it is when something happens on the street, the subway or in a mall and people rush to help rather than whipping out their phones, videoing the incident and posting it on YouTube or TikTok.

I’ve always thought that was the primary example of a citizenry so corrupt that they have lost all humanity.

It will change when people set aside their political aims and take the personal risk to right the ship, to instill fear in the institutions dispensing the “justice” that puts a Trump supporter in prison and cheers a Hillary supporter.

It is the same for BLM/ANTIFA vs. J6 protesters, and just think about how different the treatment was for James Comey and Andrew McCabe to that of Michael Flynn, Martha Stewart and Scooter Libby – Flynn, Stewart and Libby were charged (Stewart and Libby doing time) for lying to federal agents and Comey and McCabe, who did far worse got book deals.

Unfairness writ large.

Self-awareness has never been never a strong suit of the left, but proselytizing about an equitable society while using unequal tactics should seem contradictory and irrational to everyone but the most rabidly partisan.

Those are the people who must realize speaking against the unfairness of their party and its regime is not to support the other side, it is to bolster a common necessity of a free republic – a 14^th Amendment right to equal protection under the law.
