Good vs. Evil
It is that simple. It doesn't matter if it is passive aggressive, it is still evil.
I can’t help but conclude that the raison d'etre of the contemporary left (the Democrat Party) is simply to be passive aggressive. Right now, it is impossible to determine what they do support because they seem to spend the bulk of their time grousing and opposing anything that would be positive for America.
I’m just stunned at the resistance to the cost cutting in government – the actual effort to expose and stop wasteful spending, something both parties have always claimed to want to do but like Joe Biden was with the border, claimed it was just impossible and beyond their capacity to stop – even as with each Congress, spending and government headcount continued to grow.
It would seem to me that when you worry about how deeply cuts in government – GOVERNMENT, mind you – will impact GDP, which should be a sure sign that government has grown far too large to leave alone.
I can only surmise that the left (and given that the American taxpayer has been funding global leftist grifts worldwide, the global left as well) is pretty steamed about transgender studies in Tanzania getting the axe. If people don’t understand that America has been funding the American left/Democrat Party for a half a century, they are just not paying attention.
And the responses and defenses of such programmed leakage from the US Treasury are comical. In my mind’s eye, I see that famous National Lampoon cover from January of 1973 featuring Cheeseface the dog, photographed by Ronald G. Harris, with a gun pointed to his head, and the caption "If You Don't Buy This Magazine, We'll Kill This Dog". Essentially, that has been the Democrat response – except they upped the emotional blackmail by substituting a puppy (representing babies with AIDS in Africa) for Cheeseface.
“If you oppose stopping $2 billion dollars from going to Stacey Abrams for her NGO that she started just after the 2024 election, the $1 million of that that was going to save babies in Africa, and the babies will die!” they scream.
And I am not anti-baby. Anyone who has seen the pictures of my first granddaughter, Poppy, will testify to that. What I am against is the blackmail involved in lumping a necessary good with an elective evil and then pretending that wanting to eliminate the evil is a bad thing. This is the same crazy crap that winds up in every budget (oh yeah, we don’t do those any longer) or continuing resolution. Every politician tries to sneak in their pet projects/grifts to the point that there is more shit than Shinola and the American people wind up $36 trillion in debt and with over $200 trillion in unfunded liabilities.
This was once an annoyance – but now that our nation is on the verge of insolvency, it isn’t just an annoyance anymore. Bret Baier interviewed Elon and his crew of DOGErs last night and they calmly and rationally explained what needed to happen, what they were doing about it, and what would happen if they failed.
The Democrats’ response?
Burn the privately owned Teslas and those in the privately owned dealer’s lots. Pelosi was offered the chance yesterday to condemn such domestic terrorism, but like the BLM and ANTIFA riots, she declined to do so.
I’m reminded of something I wrote back in 2012. In the wake of the Newtown tragedy, a mother expressed her rational fear of her own child:
“Three days before 20-year-old Adam Lanza killed his mother, then opened fire on a classroom full of Connecticut kindergartners, my 13-year-old son Michael (name changed) missed his bus because he was wearing the wrong color pants.
“I can wear these pants,” he said, his tone increasingly belligerent, the black-hole pupils of his eyes swallowing the blue irises.
“They are navy blue,” I told him. “Your school’s dress code says black or khaki pants only.”
“They told me I could wear these,” he insisted. “You’re a stupid bitch. I can wear whatever pants I want to. This is America. I have rights!”
“You can’t wear whatever pants you want to,” I said, my tone affable, reasonable. “And you definitely cannot call me a stupid bitch. You’re grounded from electronics for the rest of the day. Now get in the car, and I will take you to school.”
I live with a son who is mentally ill. I love my son. But he terrifies me.”
That child reminds me of the current Democrat Party.
I don’t know how to say it. I know truly good people who claim to be Democrats – but it is hard to look at the theft of taxpayer money, the self-dealing and self-enrichment, the tacit approval of domestic violence, the support for criminals and horrific acts (yes, I mean abortion), the emotional blackmail, and the lying – dear God, the lying – and yes, the passive aggression, and not come to the conclusion that these are good people who have simply sided with evil – whether they realize it or not.
There is objective right and wrong here. It has never been clearer. We must maintain a majority and continue to fix it, or it is over for everyone, even the Democrats.
On a personal note, I must admit that I’m surprised I started out with a National Lampoon cover and wound up here - but this is the way I write. My stream of consciousness style sometimes leads to unexpected destinations - but you get my honest assessments and conclusions. As usual, I hope I am wrong - but history says my batting average would get me into Cooperstown.

The cover exactly captures the modern Democrat party. EVIL.
One of your best Michael !
