History repeats itself endlessly. We are seeing the Western world stumbling into a meaningless and senseless void where traditional values, Christianity, sexual roles, and the meaning of words have been lost or twisted. At the beginning of WW I, the art world was challenged by Dadaism. Now, at the beginning of WW III, everyday life has lost its meaning and we are uprooted from history and separated from God.

Simon Hagerstrom's book THE ELECTRIC STATE provides a surreal look at life in the 21st century. While in Hagerstrom's fiction, the war has ended and the survivors wander aimlessly with Neurocasters permanently affixed to their faces, we have a generation permanently disconnected from reality by their phones, virtual reality toys, and fake news.

Philosophy, values, and morals have become as obsolete as cursive writing, math skills, and books.

Welcome to the Jungle.

No one bickers more than a group of women (try coaching girl's basketball), nor is more adept at ignoring ethics in pursuit of desires.
