Down, But Not Out
Democrats are far better than Republicans at closing ranks.
What frustrates the Democrats is that their "convicted felon" dodge is not getting traction - and while the debate took even more wind out of their sails - it was not getting traction among anyone other than the Democrats who liked hearing themselves say it to make themselves feel better.
Trump was "convicted", so why don't people care?
For the same reason Biden took a hit after the debate.
People saw what happened with their own eyes.
People saw the ridiculous lengths Democrats will go to commit fraud on the American people - from inventing crimes to hiding the mental condition of a sitting president. Reasonable people also saw the unfairness and targeting of both the E. Jean Carroll and Letitia James "fraud" civil trials.
They can pretend everything is legit and Biden's collapse was a one-off deal, but people saw both and know neither are nor were.
Conservatives understand the left controls the institutions, especially in blue states like New York - and we understand it is no coincidence that all three of Trump's legal defeats have come in Manhattan courtrooms.
I do not think even Democrats believe the "convictions" will survive appeal - but they never were intended to, were they? Democrats just wanted to say the words "convicted felon".
As for Biden, you know he and his handlers are doing their absolute best to hold on, to produce perfect performances every time he is out in public - and if this is his best, the worst is bad. There is always a lot of repetition in political campaign messaging, but if you notice, Biden's speeches and his "banter" are very, very repetitious. They do not want him freelancing.
Biden is down, but not out.
He could still be elected.
In saner times, he would never have been in office in the first place, but after Democrats were shocked in 2016, their campaigns in 2020 and 2024 were all about Trump, not about their "accomplishments", all of which have been damaging to traditional America. So, they know they must lie and fearmonger about conservative ideas as children of Hitler to obscure the fact that Trump, personally, appears to be more of a moderate - but one who understands so called conservative principles are not really "conservative", they are principles that work to protect freedom, prosperity, and color-blind equality.
And lest we forget, when the chips are down Democrats circle the wagons far better than Republicans. Know that while Never Trumpers will vote for Biden, there are no Never Bidens who will vote for Trump. They have already indicated they will vote for a corpse because they believe they are voting for a "team", not a single president. They are collectivist to the core.
They also believe in a Western form of the Islamic idea of taqiyya, the permission to conceal your true beliefs and/or motives if you are under threat - in other words, lies and deceptions that further the progressive Democrat agenda are not really lies and deceptions at all.
It is highly likely Biden will have another major public glitch. People, even Democrats see how Dr. Jill has boarded the train for an ego trip and Hunter, an influence peddling con artist and legitimately convicted felon awaiting another trial for tax evasion, has no become his father's de facto Chief of Staff. They are beginning to see the Biden's actions are all about maintaining the grift.
As I wrote earlier, when push comes to shove, Democrats will not care as long as a Democrat, even with grifters in tow, sits in the Oval. I can believe Democrats are already thinking about a President Alex Soros (born in New York and will turn 43 in October of 2028) and FLOTUS Huma in 2028 or 2032.
Even with all that, I remain encouraged.
Trump has learned from the mistakes of the past. He has played this post debate period perfectly, standing back and letting the internecine warfare between the Obama/Clinton and Biden wings take center stage. He understands his mistakes in hiring and firing - for me, the VP pick will be the litmus test on that.
Trump should trounce these losers.
As Glenn Reynolds of Instapundit fame warns, "Don't get cocky."

Yes - Republicans are more prone to splintering over what to any outsider may seem like completely abstruse points of view; e.g. total ban on abortion vs. ban but not in cases of danger to the life of the mother. Whereas Democrats will pull together to vote for somebody for whom they are holding their nose. Democrats understand that keeping power is their first priority whereas GOP more likely to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
Indeed. Just look at how the left closed ranks against the Tories and Le Pen’s National Front in the UK and France. We will not be allowed to win if we are anything less than a tsunami.
