A friend asked me if I ever considered I could be wrong about Democrats.
My reply was, "Sure, I consider that possibility all the time, the problem is through their actions, they keep proving I am not."
I think this is true for many of us, at least those of us who are not governed solely by emotion and who possess heterodox viewpoints and a functioning brain.
Perhaps the most disappointing aspect for me is that I have many friends who mostly live life as I do - they have a spouse, they raised their kids right, they work hard and most of them go to church – and are seeming sentient beings, but they STILL vote for Democrats.
I asked that friend if he ever considered he might be wrong and that he is swayed more by words than actions - because around election time, Democrats always move their rhetoric toward the center, which for them means adopting more conservative positions. I pointed out how Biden is suddenly concerned about the border now that it is polling at the top of voter's concerns.
Amazingly, he said that Biden has always been concerned about the border and I asked him why he felt that way - he said, "because he said he was."
I said, "There's the problem. His actions have never matched his rhetoric and you can't comprehend that his words are meaningless if they don't match his actions. You just WANT to BELIEVE the words."
We moved on to other things, but I know he will still vote Democrat no matter what they do.
I've called it "cinematic reality", what I see is very similar to the times you watch a movie in a theater and for that time, your disbelief is suspended so that you put yourself in whatever world is on the screen.
That’s why theaters are dark, the walls and ceilings are bland and there are prohibitions against any sounds or behaviors that would distract from what is showing on the screens and what sounds are emitted from the surround sound systems.
In a theater, even for a couple of hours (or three if you watched Oppenheimer), you are in that dark room, completely separated from anything connected from reality. This is designed to keep you from breaking the “fourth wall” from an audience perspective – normally, it is an actor on the screen who acknowledges the presence of the audience the camera or any other observer, in this case it is sort of the reverse where the observer allows reality to intrude into the suspension of disbelief created by the movie and the environment.
If you have ever seen any of the Deadpool movies, you have seen the fourth wall broken as a defining feature of the movie.
At home, you are surrounded by reality. You can break the fourth wall any time you get ready. Your kids can interrupt, the Amazon dude can trip the Ring doorbell, your dog can decide it is dinner time, your phone could ring, you could talk all the way through the movie.
But in the face of all the distractions reality imposes, it seems Democrats can sustain the state of cinematic reality outside the theater, especially in situations where they are emotionally invested.
Why?
There are any number of mental issues or states that could explain it but the most likely cause is they simply can’t consider the possibility they are wrong, even in the face of overwhelming evidence.
Democrats always vote Democrat, that is why I simply don’t believe any Democrat who says otherwise.
There are no laws I know of that could prevent Trump from running, even if in jail. And nothing will stop the Trump supporters. Therefore, the uniparty must have him Epstein'ed. After that there is one thing left. Article V of the U.S. Constitution (convention of 38 states).
Now personally I would love to see Trump actually hold the office from a jail cell for a few months.
My late father was a lifelong Democrat. As a WWII and Korean War veteran he detested draft dodgers and anti-Viet Nam war protestors. Yet he voted for Clinton and Kerry. He believed in traditional family values and considered himself a member of the blue collar working class but could never understand that today’s Democratic Party had turned its back on traditional family values and the white working class. I believe many who vote for the Democrats are voting for the Party of FDR, JFK and Scoop Jackson, a Party that no longer exists.
