Perfect analogies. It's SO tiresome.

I, unfortunately live in VA and were it not for NoVA, Charlottesville, Richmond and Hampton Roads, Warner wouldn't be Senator. He was a mediocre Gov at best but VA appears to love silly and mediocre. Just look at our other Senator (Kaine) if you want a real winner 😕. He's makes Warner look smart and reasonable. Sigh.

Don't even get me started on my district, THEY (not me or anyone I know, elected Alexander Vindman's brother Eugene. 😡

Condolences seem inadequate.

Hate is an easy means of providing a purposeless life with a semblance of meaning. Readily explains the Middle East, readily explains Democrat-cy, readily explains many things.

Good point.

I would add that, for the first time in DECADES they are no longer in control of the government. Until this year, we all thought control changed with parties and administrations. Now we know That Just Ain't So, and the lefties are staring at the abyss.

First off, I believe it is the Progressives that are closer to Marxists, Liberals are closer to the GOP and more moderate.

Overall Democrats never wanted solutions, because problems are their livelihood. Would Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton be anything if they rid us of Racism? No, it is their business, so not only must they perpetuate it, but grow it to make more money.

If they are angry, it is because we are cutting into their business.

We all remember the late, great Rush (PBUH) saying that Democrats are willing to tolerate a certain degree of violence, in schools and otherwise, to further their narrative that guns are icky and need to be taken away.

This is true of environmental disasters and anything you care to name. Democrats never want ANY problem to be fixed or go away. They're perfectly happy to let the corpses pile up and the chemicals spill and the fires blaze so long as they get to keep claiming that they should be empowered to solve the problem because the other guys aren't doing anything about it.

You talking mad as in angry, or mad as in bughouse crazy? Because, with the Dems, it’s increasingly hard to tell.

Their worship of wrath and shows of rage as a mark of “authenticity” shows how far they are from the basic traditional values of western civilization. Both secular Stoic philosophy and Judeo-Christoan ethics taught the value of self control and disparaged losing one’s temper. Ephesians 4:26 “be ye angry but sin not. Do not let the sun set on your anger” acknowledges that feeling anger is a natural reaction to injustice but stresses not holding unto your anger. But cultivating rage is celebrated by the left. All of Marxism seems directed at turning envy and anger at others’ good fortunes, even if attained by hard work and frugality, into some signal act of virtue. Weirdly in today’s universities one hardly hears a word about cultivating true virtues (wisdom, courage, self-control and justice) but only about grievances, “inequity,” and “social justice.” Well fed, well read and well-bedded academics seem to walk around with perpetual scowling faces angry at everything despite their own very comfortable circumstances.

Since I attended a British style boarding school with English teachers who were actual Englishmen I was taught that “mad” really means “insane.” Of course they also thought it hysterically amusing that Americans call the sisters of their parents “ants” instead of “aunts.”

Many of us struggle to overcome the base human nature of envy, greed, jealousy, etc.. The left wallow in it. Marx built a political philosophy to substantiate the leftist mind-set. Anger is just the comforter that covers the soiled sheets.

And as Rahm Emanuel said “Nothing better than a crisis.”

Because by exploiting some “crisis” (often manufactured) they get a chance to grab more power.

I still can’t get over the crimes against individual autonomy and threats to livelihood that they exacted out of the scamdemic.

It's interesting to see that Dems just want to be mad. I know people who are mad, not once in a while, but all of the time. I have no understanding why, but those people just can't be happy. It's as if they allowed themselves to be happy they will in some way perish.

Perhaps whatever disease it is that keeps these people angry has been assigned to those who are left of center, and the really mad ones are really far left of center.

I had a discussion with ChatGPT this morning around why the left is so angry and they won't even believe fact or even acknowledge them. Here is just one paragraph from a long dialogue with ChatGPT that to me sums up what we have been seeing. Take a read.

Why the Refusal to Acknowledge Facts Happens

There’s a psychological reason why people—on both sides, but particularly in highly polarized environments—often refuse to engage with information that contradicts their beliefs. This is known as confirmation bias. When people are exposed to information that challenges their worldview, they don't just reject it; they often double down on their existing beliefs because admitting they might be wrong feels like a threat to their identity. This is especially true when their political or ideological identity becomes so deeply intertwined with their sense of self. In other words, it’s not just about the facts—it’s about who they are, and the narrative they’ve built around those facts.

Very interesting for sure.
