Mitch McConnell to Harry Reid and his Democrat enablers:
"If you want to play games and set yet another precedent that you’ll no doubt come to regret, I say to my friends on the other side of the aisle: You’ll regret this, and you may regret it sooner than you might think."
They didn't listen then, and they aren't listening today.
A bell, once rung, cannot be unrung.
Victor Davis Hanson said today that the Democrats are a political party no longer. He said they are a radical revolutionary movement with little public support but enough power to do significant damage.
And I believe he is right.
Since Obama came to power, beyond ignoring traditions or norms of political life, the hallmark of the Democrat Party has been the total disregard for the law - and not in a small way.
Obama began the “Imma gonna do this, y’all just try and stop me” process when he, Reid and Pelosi rammed Obamacare through. Never forget how they manipulated a Senate seat to get it through the Senate. He set in motion a spy operation on the Trump campaign as Hillary was deleting emails, destroying phones, mishandling classified information - most of which had been subpoenaed - and paying a million dollars in campaign cash for a disinformation operation designed specifically to change the outcome of the 2016 election.
Sure, it is "whataboutism", but it is a fact that all of that happened.
And Hillary walks free today – because, in the words of James Comey, she was “careless”.
So, what about it?
“But Trump,” can’t be allowed to be an excuse for bad (think “illegal”) behavior of Democrats and their total destruction of our system.
There’s not a single Constitutional institution Democrats haven’t attacked when they found them to be inconvenient to their agenda. Abolishing the Constitution, cancelling the filibuster, abolishing the Senate, adding a couple of states, packing the Supreme Court, politicizing the DOJ – and now indicting a former president for political reasons, nothing is outside the pale for these terrorists.
And yes, I mean to say they are terrorists. Just because they grow rich through insider trading and influence peddling, and they wear bespoke suits and Dolce and Gabbana couture doesn’t mean they aren’t terrorists.
And after a decade and a half of leftist revolutionary politics, there’s not much of a system left. About the only thing we have left is a SCOTUS, which at times is a fickle friend.
I really don’t want us to get into a death spiral of threats, intimidation and partisan investigations and prosecutions.
Wait. Lemme think about that for a minute.
OK, on the other hand, you bet your ass I do.
One thing I know about Democrats, at least the professional assholes in Washington, is that they never learn unless a few heads get cracked.
There is nothing stopping a Republican DA somewhere in a red state from filing charges against any Democrat for something they did in that state. I hope that happens. Of course, that is bad for our nation but not responding in kind is even worse.
A foolish peace is far worse than a bloody war.
In “On War”, Carl Von Clausewitz proposed that “War is the continuation of politics by other means.” The corollary of which would be that politics is the continuation of war by other means. And that is true – politics has become the mechanism by which people do bad things to other people under the guise of majority agreement as if simply being in the majority is the same as being ethical and moral.
Being in a majority doesn’t equal to being morally right, it only guarantees the anonymity of being part of the mob. What a mob (a temporary majority) does do is provide the safety of numbers and enough false bravado to allow accusations to be made and positions to be taken that never would or could be if hurled by an individual.
It’s happening now.
We are at war. Have been for a while now.
These are not my rules. These are their rules, they have been playing by them for a while and we have been too nice to deliver any crotch shots that make the family jewels bounce like a set of Clackers (remember them?).
Why not? Alvin Bragg just made it OK to punch Democrat women in the testicles.
Click clack.
"Von Clausewitz"!!! Gosh, Michael, you are one well-read fellow. Your writing incorporates so many facts that it consistently blows my mind. Keep up the good work.
There is a target-rich environment when we take aim at Democrat law breaking.
