Creating a Hell on Earth
From the World Economic Forum to the Biden Administration, apocalypticism rules.
I can’t figure out if our culture produces apocalyptic disaster movies or vice versa.
The left can’t figure it out either.
Their beliefs totter on a precipice between creating Utopia on one side and averting human extinction on the other.
This morning I woke up with a couple of quotes in my head, this first one from H.L. Mencken:
“Civilization, in fact, grows more and more maudlin and hysterical; especially under democracy it tends to degenerate into a mere combat of crazes; the whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, most of them imaginary.”
That is from his 1918 book, “In Defense of Women”.
The other one I have used many times is the aphorism quoted by F.A. Hayek:
"What has always made the state a hell on earth has been precisely that man has tried to make it his heaven.”
Somehow, the two of those synthesized into the thought that the American left believes we are living in a disaster movie, but everything they do to avert the “disaster” only brings disaster closer.
I think what my addled, cotton-pickin’ mind was trying to say was that when there is a fictional crisis, attempting to solve that crisis only serves to create it.
If you think about the general plots of those disaster movies, like 2012 or the Day After Tomorrow, the elites responsible for the disasters always take it in the shorts in the end.
But as much as those movies are fiction, it is fiction to think the ruling elites and those who run in those circles will suffer.
Do you think the Davos crowd is concerned about buying a gallon of gas?
Nah.
They will be fine. Steak for dinner every night and a driver in the morning to take them wherever they want to go. They aren’t concerned about inflation; it is good for them. Neither Bill Gates nor Barack Obama worries about commercial air travel because a private jet is only a phone call away.
And their policies hurt anyone who is not them.
There are farmers shutting down highways in the Netherlands due to emission restriction policies that will either cost them out of operation because electric tractors don’t work, and they couldn’t afford them even if they did.
The Netherlands government’s reaction – to shoot at the farmers.
It has happened in America’s Hat – Canada – where the Trudeau government has taken advantage of an invented vaccine “crisis”, on that time and truth has proven to be invented, to crack down on truck drivers and anyone supporting or leading their protests.
That is Canada’s version of America’s J6.
The regressive Biden government is choking off America’s access to our own natural resources even as they sell our Strategic Petroleum Reserves to foreign interests – one Chinese entity in specific that has been linked back to Hunter Biden and the Biden Crime Family.
Just a coincidence, I’m sure.
“Just buy an electric vehicle” is the contemporary iteration of “Let them eat cake”.
Never mind that in Antionette’s France there was just as much a shortage of cake as there is a shortage of electricity in today’s America (and the elites know it). The attack on an out of favor industry and the fuel it produces is already causing planned blackouts around the world and restrictions on natural gas usage across Europe.
The “solutions” from the WEF and governments in thrall to them, many of which are already in motion, will create the very consequences they are supposed to evade.
The elites will never feel the consequences of their actions, so they act as if there are none. The rich and powerful telling you the seas are going to rise are still buying shoreline property. Those who tell you that your hydrocarbon powered vehicle is too damaging to the environment are still hopping flights and being chauffeured around in SUV’s.
This is the ultimate representation of moral hazard.
They are creating the very crisis they claim to want to avoid.
Biden’s policies are based on cynical apocalypticism.
Apocalypticism, aside from being a mouthful to say, is a real thing.
It has religious significance as it is a belief in “any doctrine concerning the end of the temporal world, especially one based on the Revelations of St. John the Divine” including the Second Coming of Christ – but there is a secular (or statolatrist) version as well. That one is defined as “Belief in apocalyptic prophecies, especially regarding the imminent destruction of the world and the foundation of a new world order as a result of the triumph of good over evil.”
The problem for the world elite is that while you can reinvent the wheel, you can’t uninvent it.
People are recognizing this agenda as little more than a revival of 19th century Malthusianism.
The elites will only feel the pain of consequence if they are made to feel it.
That’s why they are trying to condition the population not to fight back when they are attacked.
That’s why they fear you and want your guns.
As Herb Stein said, if something cannot go on forever, it will stop.
This is that.
When you act out of fear you will drive yourself closer to the disaster you are trying to avert. All your actions will backfire. Sort of like getting into a driving situation where someone turning left in front of you stalls, blocking your way. If you fixate on them, you’ll hit them. If you look for open space you’ll likely not. Those at the tip top, not the Biden’s or the Trudeau types, have as their intention destruction of everyone. Because they actually are demons. They enslave those under them by creating fear. The fearful then make decision after decision that moved destruction forward.
Thanks to "green" politics, Sri Lanka has declared bankruptcy. Germany has now announced that natural gas and nuclear power are "green" technologies.
While the rest of the world suffers, the Russian ruble has never been worth more. If the world survives the Biden administration, maybe Putin will save Christianity and the world from perversion and insanity.
Russia's ruble is the strongest currency in the world this …
