Contradictions and Con Men
When contradictions can't be reconciled, the jig is up for those running the scam.
Confidence schemes, at their core, rely on a delicate balance of trust, misdirection, and the illusion of coherence. They thrive in environments where the mark - whether an individual or a broader public - accepts the narrative being sold without probing too deeply into its foundations. The moment contradictions within the scheme are exposed, however, this fragile structure begins to crumble. The public, even if not inherently skeptical, struggles to rationalize glaring inconsistencies once they’re laid bare. This unraveling stems from a fundamental human need for coherence: when the pieces don’t fit, belief erodes, and the con collapses under its own weight.
Consider how these schemes often depend on a façade of authority or insider knowledge - think of a Ponzi scheme promising outsized returns or a grifter posing as a credible expert. The perpetrator weaves a story that’s just plausible enough to suspend disbelief, often bolstered by emotional appeal or the promise of exclusivity. But contradictions, like mismatched numbers in a financial ledger or conflicting claims about a supposed miracle cure, act as cracks in the façade. Once publicized, these inconsistencies invite scrutiny, and the public’s trust - already thinly stretched - snaps when the narrative no longer holds together.
The failure accelerates because people don’t just abandon the scheme quietly; they react. Exposure breeds discussion, outrage, or even mockery, amplifying the contradictions further. A scammer might claim they’ve unlocked a secret to wealth while living modestly themselves - when this gap is pointed out, it’s not just a flaw, it’s a betrayal of the promise. The public, now aware, can’t unsee the disconnect. Cognitive dissonance kicks in: either they’ve been fooled, or the scheme’s logic must bend into absurdity to survive. Most choose the former, and the con’s credibility evaporates.
Historically, this pattern repeats. Take the case of snake oil salesmen in the 19th century - once chemical analysis revealed their “cures” were little more than alcohol and herbs, public faith dissolved. Modern examples, like certain overhyped tech ventures or cryptocurrency scams, follow suit: the moment leaked documents or whistleblowers reveal the emperor has no clothes, the hype deflates. The public doesn’t need to understand every detail; they just need to see the contradiction - like a founder preaching transparency while hiding losses- and the house of cards falls.
In essence, confidence schemes die in the light of exposure because contradictions are their kryptonite. They can’t withstand the pressure of a public trying, and failing, to make sense of the mess. Once the mask slips, the game’s over - not because everyone becomes a detective, but because no one can ignore the broken story staring them in the face.
Now think about these:
Illegal aliens are ok, deporting violent illegal aliens is not.
Oligarchs are bad, except when Democrats do it.
The President as near dictatorial powers, but not when it is a Republican.
J6 protestors, even the non-violent ones, must be severely punished, BLM and ANTIFA are just expressing free speech so they should be left alone.
Everybody should have free speech rights but only if we approve of the speech.
Billionaires in politics are bad, unless they support Democrats.
Climate change is real, and Tesla cars are saving the environment, but we hate Musk now, so we will trade them in for gas powered cars and then burn the Teslas.
Under the Department of Education, education failing more than ever – but the Department of Education must not be disbanded.
That’s the image of the Democrat Party, aka the Democrat Con, that people are seeing – and they can’t reconcile it.
Gonna be hard to come back from this.

The hypocrisy of the Left has no bounds. I often wonder if that many people are born without a "common sense" gene.
I think with the MSM in the gov propaganda/psyop business many US citizens are completely in the dark and literally brainwashed. The fact that they can deny reality so thoroughly and refrain from questioning almost everything is a huge obstacle for our country returning to sanity and common sense. The Tesla hatred is a great example as that was part of their holy grail.
