CBS Evening News with Snorah O'Donnell
Snorah O'Donnell and Major Disappointment Garrett report that cleaning up voter rolls is racist disenfranchisement.
Watched a bit of Snorah O'Donnell's CBS evening news broadcast tonight while waiting for the local news to kick in.
Snorah had on Major Disappointment Garrett (former Fox guy, now picking up that sweet lefty paycheck at CBS), reporting on a group of MAGA Election Deniers who took it upon themselves to review voter rolls for people who were dead, illegally registered, or no longer lived in the area where they could legally vote. Major found a Little Old White Lady (a LOWL) who looked like central casting sent her to The Snorah Show as the perfect example of the comfortably retired wife of Bull Connor.
The LOWL's crime: she has examined the voter rolls and filed about 700 voter registration challenges – doing what the state won’t do – investigating when she saw something hinky.
Of course, much to Snorah’s delight, Major Disappointment reported this little old white lady also "falsely" believes there was fraud in the 2020 election.
Heretic! She's a witch! Burn her!
The "victim", of course, was a black man who registered at a barber shop while he was homeless. It seems in Georgia, it is not legal to use a business address for registration purposes, so Major asked him what possible reason should this evil white lady want to kick him off the rolls.
Why it was racism! She was just trying to disenfranchise a black man! MAGA extremism, once again!
Snorah says just because it is illegal to claim a business as a residence and they did find a lot of mistakes and "administrative" errors, it is just wrong for these people to be taken off the voter rolls! Trump supporters! There's no evidence of "widespread" voter fraud, Magats!
Then, very quietly, they note that what the black homeless man did was, in fact, illegal and that Biden "won" by less than 12,000 votes and so far over 11,000 voters have been successful taken off the rolls for valid reasons.
When they asked the awful LOWL wife of Bull Connor why she hated this particular black man enough to disenfranchise him, she said, "All he had to do was call the elections office and give them his address when he had a valid one, but he never did."
Yet, in the face of such insolence Snorah soldiered on, telling Major they really should keep reporting on this horrific process of making sure that people who vote are eligible to vote because when the rules are enforced and followed, Democrats lose.
This segment was one of the most biased I have seen in a long time.
The attitude of both Snorah and Major Disappointment was one of smug condescension. “Who cares about the rules when we need voters?”, they shouted. “Why do we expect so much of black people? Why should they – or the homeless – need to prove where they live? Why take their rights away from them?”
What wasn’t said, but was heavily implied, was it was just a Trump thing. Nobody but Trumpster White Supremacist Extremists think people should follow the law.
The thing that I noticed as this report progressed was just how comfortable these two were as they delivered buckets of bias to their audience. They had absolutely no concern about being called out or not believed. They treated their audience as total dumbasses, little chicks in a nest gobbling up whatever mommy Snorah shoved down their gullets. People completely incapable of understanding why when something is illegal, it should be stopped.
I have to say one thing – they sure know their audience.
You can bet that O'Donnell and Garrett's tune would change drastically if they thought for one second that the homeless guy was voting for Trump. They would suddenly believe he should follow the law.
I truly hate crap shows like what you described. Meant to do nothing more than to - as the saying goes - to throw shade upon the truth and the person telling it.
I get appalled at the fact that these numskulls get to spread these lies and hatred, and never feel the repercussions. Instead, the rest of us plain old deplorables have to live with the consequences resulting from their oral diarrhea.
What I believe is that when they finally go to meet their maker, judgement will be passed and if they hadn't repented before, they will get what's coming to them.
My 2 cents.
