Gaia worshipers lie about trade-offs and ROI. They can't afford to tell you the truth.
Life is a series of trade-offs.
In my experience, the big or important things are almost always mutually exclusive. There is only one of you at any given time and since you are a scarce resource, choosing one thing often means not choosing another.
So, on we march, choosing one thing and rejecting the other based on what we determine is best for us and/or those who depend on us.
Life is also rife with return-on-investment analysis. While some may not know what ROI means or how it works in mathematical terms, we all do it and we all live with it. In making trade-offs we seek to gain the most benefit (or the least damage) from our choices.
At least that’s my theory.
What I find interesting is that subset of people who simply don’t address these two things. There is no question they understand the concepts, as many of whom are highly credentialled (rather than educated) - but those facts get in the way of their chosen narratives.
I think about the current cult of Gaia worship as being one of the worst offenders.
Take, for example, the Biden Administration’s energy and environmental policies. Both violate the idea that there are trade-offs, at least that is what they tell us. They claim an all-electric, clean, green energy economy is there for the taking, there is no trade-off, no downside. They also claim that organic farming is the way to save the planet, that we must stop using petroleum-based pesticides, herbicides, fertilizers and even the fuel for the equipment utilized in food production and we must stop producing protein on the hoof.
But all of that is a lie.
If you listen carefully, they will admit that energy is going to cost more, be less dependable, and you will be able to do less independently. Your cars will cost more to buy, maintain, operate, and replace. They will have less range, less cargo capacity, be smaller and slower and maybe even prone to catching on fire.
If you are paying attention, you must be asking yourself that if China is the greatest manufacturer of wind and solar power equipment, and the energy produced from them is reliable and cheap, why are the Chinese on a coal-fired power plant building binge?
According to a March 2023 NPR article, China is building six times more coal-fired power plants than the rest of the world combined – and is mining and importing more coal than ever to feed them.
As for the environment, organic farming has proven a disaster in Sri Lanka and the advocates know that the yields will be less, the quality poorer, more labor intensive and as a result, food will cost more. They want to rid the world of pig farms, sheep herds and cattle ranches due to the environmental effects of cow farts, pig manure and over grazing. Water rationing will reduce the ability to irrigate and render productive lands fallow while making weather an even greater factor in farming.
The Netherlands is the world's second-largest agricultural exporter (after the U.S) and the Dutch government has already planned to forcibly “buy” between 2500 and 3000 farms and shut them down to reduce pollution, with no clue how that food production will be replaced. In the US, Biden’s “climate czar”, John Kerry, has openly noted that many US farms would need to be confiscated to reach the same end.
Lab grown “meat” has been a bust, being chemically processed more than real meat, so they tell you that the next big thing for the peasants is eating bugs – and they aren’t joking. They preach de-industrialization and depopulation as the holy grail for saving the planet without understanding what the real consequences would be in such a future.
I ran across an interesting article today that demonstrates just how little concern these cultists have for return on investment. They never ask if what we have created is a net positive for humanity or if what they are planning is a net negative. In the article, noted futurist Brian Wang writes:
“The worst-case economic loss from bad storms from climate change is 2-3% global GDP loss but the economic damage from lost population will be 20-30% GDP loss. $5.6 trillion would only be about 2% loss of a 2050 economy that is $250 trillion. If the climate models have massively overestimated the loss and climate damage is two to five times worse than today, then it would be 0.1% loss of GDP. 20-30% loss of a 2050 economy that is $250 trillion would be $50-75 trillion.”
The point being, the cure is demonstrably worse than the disease, as is the case for most of the Gaia cultists beliefs.
But they won’t tell you that.
You must figure it out for yourself, and hopefully you do before your first plate of bugs is served.
I mentioned this same thing recently. My comment:
John Kerry says if we don't stop farmers producing food now, the climate crisis caused by farming will result in an inability to provide food for people in the future. Of course, if we stop producing food now, there will be no people in the future to consume any food that would not be producible. This is the brilliance of our "elites."

These people can no longer be reasoned with. Their brains have been totally destroyed by a mind virus. They are akin to invasion of the body snatchers, seemingly totally unaware of the takeover of their brain.
They do not realize that they are totally detached from reality.
They do not realize that they are the radicals and insurrectionists.
They do not realize that they are the ones filled with hate.
They do not realize that they are the ones destroying democracy.
They do not realize that they are the ones violating our “sacred norms.”
They can no longer be reasoned with, nor co-existed with. You must physically move away from them and hope that this mania eventually passes, while preparing for a violent resolution in case it does not.
