I listen when people talk.
Well, some people…some of the time…
Mostly because when people talk enough, I can usually figure out something about them – usually, through language, they reveal how intelligent they are.
For example, when I negotiate, I turn up the Mississippi and slow down the my speech rate just a tiny bit. I toss in a few cornpone analogies and family stories – people who aren’t from the South and don’t know me, usually assume that means I’m a fry or two short of a Happy Meal in the intellect department.
When I’m speaking with my superiors or peers who know me, I use my Sunday School voice and words I learned from my Thinker’s Thesaurus.
I didn’t spend too much time thinking about Overly Caffeinated Joe’s rantspeak of last night, but I did think about it a bit on the drive home this afternoon and something occurred to me.
It had to do with his threat to the conservative members (and John Roberts) of the Supreme Court, a non sequitur to be sure, due to the fact he threatened lifetime appointees with how the Democrats were going to incite the Fury of the AWFLs – the Affluent White Female Liberals – on the matter of abortion.
Sir Mixed-Up-A-Lot said to the Justices seated down front (who were there to show respect for the office of the president and the country):
“With all due respect, justices, women are not without ... electoral or political power…”
And in what appeared to be an ad-libbed moment, he added,
"You’re about to realize just how much …”
Of course, the Democrats in the chamber, who were just relieved he had not fallen from the podium or keeled over graveyard dead on the spot, leapt to their feet and cheered as if Joe had magically turned into Perseus and killed Medusa.
Biden was yelling at the Justices about taking away the right to choose.
So, let’s review what the SCOTUS did in Dobbs:
They overturned a decision by a bunch of black robed men about women’s bodies,
They returned the decision about abortion to the voters in the states, where
Men AND women could freely vote their conscience on the matter.
In my estimation, Biden was excoriating SCOTUS for giving women the opportunity to choose an abortion – and to vote on the matter. In other words, Abe Simpson was yelling at people who were not on his lawn to get off it – aiming his blown out, disturbingly black pupils at people for doing exactly what he claimed to want done.
What am I missing here?
Of course, the sycophantic morons in the Democrat Party stood, clapped their hands, and cheered that Angry Joe, in a fierce, fiery and feisty manner (approved words from the White House that every propaganda outlet has used today) speaking truth to power.
Seems stupid to me.
Not only to say it, but to applaud it.
The people applauding the speech – and the morons writing about it today – tipped us all, through their actions and words, that they have about as much intellectual wattage as a refrigerator bulb.
But you knew that, didn’t you?
You give them too much credit sir - a refrigerator bulb is brighter!
The odds that a Democrat will describe Dobbs (or even Roe, for that matter) accurately are zero. "Reproductive rights" are conflated perfectly with "abortion," no other options or possibilities being considered.
Nobody mentions the fact that you can do plenty of things OTHER than killing the child. A pregnancy, to a Democrat, is like a cancer -- she had nothing to do with it, she didn't cause it, it appeared out of nowhere, and it's going to kill her unless you MEN stand aside and let her take drastic measures.
Sick, really.
