Any Narrative in a Storm
Democrats jumping to conclusions is nothing new, but hiding the truth has become easier for them in their postmodern world.
In the recent Colorado Springs Club Q shooting, the Democrats and media were quick to claim that it was caused by the shooter being a fan of Tucker Carlson, Libs of TikTok and the alt right. When it came out the shooter “identified” as “non-binary” and there was no clear motive for the shooting, the leftist media quickly switched the narrative to “well, he was bullied by right wingers as a child”.
That assertion, to use their own language, was presented “without evidence”.
They were ready to launch the same narrative about the Virginia Walmart shooting until the shooter was discovered to be black – they then defaulted to “we need stronger gun control”.
If you are paying attention, there is a recognizable pattern.
How, in 2013, the media struggled to make the Boston Bomber a right-wing extremist with Salon writer Michael Sirota writing, “…if you care about everything from stopping war to reducing the defense budget to protecting civil liberties to passing immigration reform, you should hope the bomber was a white domestic terrorist” and even the 2016 Pulse Nightclub shooting in Orlando where the shooter was Muslim and his target choice had nothing to do with hating LGBQ people.
But the pot constantly and consistently calls the kettle black.
Of all the issues America faces, perhaps the one that scares me the most is the degree of comfort Democrats exhibit in demonizing their opponents and casting them, not just as wrong, but as evil. While the political left, the Democrats and the media immediately assign blame to the “inflammatory rhetoric of the “right wing”, they fail to recognize that if that premise is true, it follows that their decades of white bashing, of demonizing Christians, of hatred of the family and just general dislike of all American history and tradition, would also have a similar effect on some in society.
I can remember a few years ago when:
New (at the time) Democrat “It Girl”, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, called President Trump a racist and an anti-Semite.
Freshman Democrat from Michigan, Rashida Tlaib, said “We’re going to impeach the motherfucker”, speaking of the President after saying, “Look, I truly believe he is racist — and that’s probably controversial — he is.”
Omar and Tlaib both took anti-Israel, antisemitic positions after being elected to Congress.
During a speech at a Martin Luther King Jr. Day event in South Carolina, former Democrat presidential candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) told the crowd that “we now have a president who is a racist.”
Joe Biden claimed that Republicans “stole” gubernatorial elections in Georgia and Florida through voter “suppression” (in the form of voter ID laws).
Democrat Senators Hirono and Harris (one thinking about running for president and one announced at the time) accused a Supreme Court nominee of bias because they were Catholic and members of a charitable Catholic service organization.
A CNN anchor suggested Second Lady Karen Pence should not have Secret Service protection because she teaches at a Christian school.
The sycophantic Democrat-loving media smears a group of Catholic High School kids as racists.
And all of those were from a few months in 2019.
Raging anti-Catholicism, anti-Christian, anti-Jewish bias in a country that still identifies as 73% Judeo-Christian is fundamental to the Democrat platform. Republicans are immoral, stone cold racists and cheats who will also lie and steal, they claim. In short, their position is that Republicans are the children of Satan, and the Democrats are the Army of God.
This is stunning hypocrisy coming from the political party that treats abortion as a sacrament, supports every deviant behavior on Earth, considers gender confusion a right, the encouragement of children to become transsexuals as normal behavior, values the lives of illegal aliens over those of legal citizens, and disregards the Constitution to such a degree as to qualify as hatred.
This is dangerous – more so than any of the Democrats think – because this is personal, not political. This language has gone far beyond elective politics. This has all the trappings of the Catholics vs. Protestants, Sunni vs. Shia. This is internecine warfare on a level not seen in America since the Civil War.
If you want to start a new civil war, this is how it is done. You convince your side that the other side is so evil, they are better off dead. Sooner or later, some zealot will act on it. The first step is already happening – for years, Democrats preached socialism lite as the wave of the future – back in the day, they had a grand total of one socialist in all of Congress, the Bern but now, there are a dozen or so who identify as “democratic socialists”. The new threat is not coming in a revolution, it is slow and steady, incremental leftist radicalism.
Using their logic, every Republican is evil, a danger to democracy and humanity.
Again in 2022, I report the news for the NeverTrump Republicans and Judeo-Christian Democrats, the enemy of your enemy is NOT your friend. If these maniacal “true believers” will turn on their own for not being sufficiently pure, they sure as hell will turn on you.
Democrats need to step back from their false and dangerous rhetoric, or they will start a fire that cannot be easily quenched.
And once started, it will not end well for any of us.
Of that, I am sure.
The culture wars are already in full attack mode and we are entirely too tolerant. We have to mock and call out this idiocy wherever we see it.
While at Thanksgiving dinner with 2 teachers, one middle school and one high school, I asked if they had any furries in their school, never expecting an affirmative answer from suburban SLC. They both did.
I recognize these students’ deep and unhealthy need for attention. But think back to your own school days. Would any administrators have tolerated this? They are the adults in the room. Why don’t they try identifying as people in control?
It’s much easier to tolerate it than to confront it head on and try to solve the problem. No wonder our kids are laughing at us all the way to their litter boxes. We have given up control
and the lunatics are running the asylum. This is exactly what the Democrats are doing to us and we continue to be accommodating.
This essay is one of your best, Michael. I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. In these uncertain times, when those supported by those millions of us who question the legality of the Biden administration and America's foreign policy are accused of being disciples/missionaries of the WEF, it's enough to make your brain explode.
As in every crisis, from a personal health issue to the end of the world, we all must stay calm.
