Remaining generally unremarked in the wake of the creation of a two-tiered system as a result of the Democrat’s weaponization of justice against Donald Trump are the myriad of cases that are less suited to hyperbolic headlines.
Take the J6 defendants, Peter Navarro going to jail for ignoring a congressional subpoena, Paul Manafort, Mike Flynn, and so many others in Trump’s circle, while nothing is done in the cases of Eric Holder ignoring a congressional subpoena, Obama intel officials lying to congress and getting contributor gigs on MSNBC and CNN, Andrew McCabe having his retirement reinstated, Kevin Clinesmith, a lawyer who altered a FISA warrant application with false information having his law license restored, Adam Schiff free to run for a Senate seat, and so many other examples.
What should be understood is this is a lesson in unfettered government power. Tish James just got a half a billion dollar civil conviction (without a jury) because she and the judge didn’t like Trump’s completely legal business practices - his loan applications carried a disclaimer noting that the lender should do their own due diligence but the judge simply decided that was not enough.
The fact that Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama and Joe Biden walk free today is prima facie evidence of the level of corruption.
John Adams, in his message to the Officers of the First Brigade of the Third Division of the Militia of Massachusetts on October 11, 1798, wrote:
"While our country remains untainted with the principles and manners which are now producing desolation in so many parts of the world; while she continues sincere, and incapable of insidious and impious policy, we shall have the strongest reason to rejoice in the local destination assigned us by Providence. But should the people of America once become capable of that deep simulation towards one another, and towards foreign nations, which assumes the language of justice and moderation while it is practicing iniquity and extravagance…in the most captivating manner the charming pictures of candor, frankness, and sincerity, while it is rioting in rapine and insolence, this country will be the most miserable habitation in the Nvorld [world]; because we have no government armed with power capable of contending with human passions unbridled by morality and religion. Avarice, ambition, revenge, or gallantry, • would break the strongest cords of our Constitution as a whale goes through a net. Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other."
Our Republic and our Constitution is designed to withstand paper cuts - disagreements that hurt but heal relatively quickly. Due to its construction (the separation of powers and the checks and balances), the Constitution prevents elected officials from delivering a death blow to the country - as long as the Constitution is followed.
Democrats have found a way to make paper cuts lethal.
They have introduced the equivalent of necrotizing fasciitis to the whole of government. They have taken a paper cut, weaponized it, and now the entire body of our nation is dying at the hands of the vermin rooted in government agencies and the Deep State.
It shouldn't be a surprise - John Adams predicted such an infection 226 years ago.
America is no longer untainted - the insincerity, insidious, and impious policy consisting of avarice, ambition, revenge, gallantry and unbridled by any sense of morality or religion of which Adams wrote is on full and public display.
There are few people of honor, of good faith - people of honest intent and propriety, left in Washington. Honest debate has been replaced by lies (under the protection of the Speech and Debate clause of the Constitution) and lawfare (political lawsuits advanced through the judicial branch).
This started long before Trump. One of the first word uttered by Democrats after the election of every Republican president since Nixon has been "impeachment." Election denial and election interference is now a GOP only crime since every GOP president has faced objections from Democrats in the House. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid influenced an election from the floor of the Senate when he claimed (lied) that Mitt Romney had not paid taxes for a decade - and when asked afterward he arrogantly stated, "Romney didn't win, did he?"
Reid's legacy continued in the perpetual investigations and legal persecutions of Trump. I had someone compare this to Benghazi or Hillary's emails to try to draw an equivalence - "Republicans do it, too!", she said - until I noted the false equivalence of investigating in search of an event rather than investigating in the aftermath of a confirmed event.
Abraham Lincoln is quoted as saying:
"America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves."
Combine the Democrats' love of palace intrigue over honest debate, open support of radicalism and a slate of presidential candidates who espouse the most anti-American, anti-constitutional, misanthropic policies ever enacted, the open embrace of a corrupt system of justice, and it isn't difficult to come to a conclusion who is responsible for America's destruction.
People do not expect to find chastity in a whorehouse. Why, then, do they expect to find honesty and humanity in government, ….. institutions whose modus operandi consists of lying, cheating, stealing, and if need be, murdering those who resist ?
