America Diluted
America is being reshaped by discrete examples of brute force, but the subtle actions are even more far reaching.
I hesitate to use the term "wake up" because it is overused and trite, I think the better term is "wise up".
I guess it is hard for people to do, especially when the situation we need to which we should be paying attention is mainstreamed to the point it seems commonplace.
Stalin allegedly said:
"A single death is a tragedy; a million deaths is a statistic."
Even if it wasn't him, that is a pretty astute observation. The point being that the same people who notice an individual murder will ignore an entire war.
Disassociation, physical distance, and time also play a role.
When we have a family member, a friend or neighbor pass away, or it is immediate or recent, we pay more attention and the emotional impact is certainly greater than if it is someone to whom we are not connected by family bonds, if there is a significant physical distance away, or if it happened some amount of time in the past.
I've noticed that is true in my own life as family members and friends from high school and college have passed. My dad passed while we were living in Scotland - I know the impact on me was significantly less than if I had been living in my home town. My wife and I have had some were good friends during times in our lives - but we have lost touch over the ensuing years and the news of their passing is greeted with a brief remembrance.
I guess such it is with human nature.
If you I were to transmogrify Stalin's alleged truism, I would do so by stating it this way:
"A single act is a statement, a million acts is a reality."
Let me explain.
We talk about how we now have a two tiered system of justice not so much, I think, because there hasn't always been that sort of system, but because it is no longer hidden. A few acts of deviations of fairness spread over an entire system of jurisprudence could be seen as anomalies but when these acts become legion, obvious and close to our loyalties and concerns, we begin to notice.
If you notice, the tsunami of illegal immigration wasn’t a problem for so-called “sanctuary cities”, until the walls of disassociation, physical distance, and time were breached and the true volume of it was impacted people on a personal level, it came close to their homes and it was happening in real time.
But this is not contained just to the justice or governmental systems in America. It has spread to the social and economic spheres in a massive way.
Democrats/liberals/progressives have long used "equity" as some sort of synonym for equality. Of course, we all understand these two words are most certainly NOT the same.
The issue becomes evident when force of government is used to convert equality to equity.
All one needs to understand is to look at how illegal aliens have been elevated to a status, not equal to, but beyond that which both naturalized and natural born citizens occupy.
When people use the word "force", I think the mental image is of jackboots and guns, armor, swords and spearpoints, but force is also when conditions are imposed by some arbitrary authority which the people can not directly resist. In the case of illegal aliens, the force is not that people are being prevented from doing something, it is that the lives of citizens are being altered by a government allowing a massive flow of foreign nationals into the country and supporting them with tax dollars drawn from people who never approved of such actions.
One illegal alien is a crime, millions of illegal aliens is an invasion.
This "equality by force" is all around us, filling every single pore of our American existence. Every institution in America is being changed by a velvet hammer right before our eyes.
It is not too late to wise up.
The illegal aliens invasion is dangerous to the country, as demonstrated by your test tube illustration. Dilution of the stock. And it is corrosive, like an acid, slowly destroying its host.
This does not include the likelihood of devastating acts of terrorism by our "welcomed" guests.
It is also not too late to stock up.
