Adventures in Socialism
So far, the American way has been strong enough to withstand the Democrat's socialist impulses.
One of those “Right Track/Wrong Track” polls was released last week by Reuters/IPSOS. It showed that while 87% if Republicans and 62% of Independents thought America was on the wrong track, only 37% of Democrats thought that. In fact, a near majority of Democrats, 49%, thought America was on the RIGHT track.
There was another recent poll, and I’m sorry I can’t remember who conducted it, that asked something like “Has inflation impacted your spending?” or something to that effect and as best as I can remember (heard it on the radio), 31% of Democrats said it had not.
How are either of those possible?
How is it possible for 49% of Democrats to think America is on the right track and 31% to say their spending has not been impacted by gasoline prices increasing by two and a half times?
The answer is that it is not possible.
It is a matter of perception.
It gets a little less murky when you consider that the Democrats have convinced themselves that our economy must change – it must move away from capitalism – and they expect that to be both possible and painful. They are OK with the transitional pain if their communist dreams come true.
But I’m heard to tell you that it can’t.
Here’s why.
Democrats also believe a man can transition into a woman – but that is as much a lie as a dog transforming into a cat.
Of course, nobody would consider stripping the skin off a dog, wrapping it in cat skin and calling it a cat. It isn’t rational because underneath that skin, the dog is still a dog – a very pissed off dog, but still a dog, nonetheless.
And you can’t change a man into a woman. You can’t swap out organs, strip out genetic material and make it work. If you try, both the donor and recipient are going to die. Each person is a complete system on their own and are not interchangeable on a systems level. You can pretend there was a change, but on the level that really matters, there wasn’t.
No amount of pain changes either of those situations from failure into success.
When someone is telling you a lie, knowing it is a lie and choosing to believe the lie (or ignoring evidence to the contrary) does not stop it from being a lie.
And yet, Democrats believe a capitalist system can be transformed into a communist system – but because these are two separate, genetically distinct systems, that is as impossible as the dog to cat or man to woman transformation I just mentioned. If this is tried, both systems will die. They are as incompatible with each other as the bodies of dogs and cats.
But Democrats believe it can happen and a little pain is the price they are willing to pay.
I think that explains the differences in perspectives.
When I am chided as an alarmist and told that a little socialism is a good thing, I remind people that the only reason that we have been able to avoid the corporate pain inherent in collectivist systems is that, at least so far, our Republic has been able to tolerate – it is still like an annoying pimple, unsightly and ugly, but ultimately inconsequential to the human body.
However, since the start of Lyndon Johnson’s Great Society, we have been slowly and incrementally increasing the infections until they have become systemic and life threatening. They are now threatening the organs of the body.
Ye shall know them by their works, and by those works we my know that Democrats do not want the best for our country, they just want control of it. If they turn it into a smoldering ash heap in the process, that’s just fine if they are kings of the resulting wasteland. They have conclusively proven this by exempting themselves from the very laws they foist on the rest of the populace.
The ugly truth about Democrats is that most of them aren’t really communists and what they really want is just enough of our capitalism to pay for their adventures in socialism…but the Bidenomics has brought the pain to the ranks of the useful idiots, and you can almost see them ordering their own copy of “Atlas Shrugged” via Amazon in the dark of night. Some are even starting to recognize their inner Any Rand and push back a little.
C.S. Lewis said:
“The safest road to hell is the gradual one – the gentle slope, soft underfoot, without sudden turnings, without milestones, without signposts.”
I therefore remain hopeful that the useful idiots are going to become slightly less useful and a great deal less idiotic, we are about to turn around on the path C.S. Lewis described and begin the uphill walk to that shining city on the hill – America.
I hope more Americans wake up and see that individual freedom is being stolen while they sleep...
Activist Democrats - that would be most of them - use polling (and their poll responses) to send a message. Republicans are becoming more like this as well - disregarding how they may feel on an issue to "send a message". So polls are becoming less useful. No True Republican supports Biden and No True Democrat opposes him.
