In case you haven’t figured it out yet, I’m not a real journalist, philosopher or writer. I’m just a person, one of many in America, who has an active mind, loves reading, learning, figuring stuff out and thanks to my parents and grandparents, have a great set of life tools to put things together.
Any modicum of vocabulary and writing skills are due to the mother of one of my best friends, who happened to be my high school Senior English teacher. She showed me the magic of words and recognized I might have a talent for expressing myself.
I guess that’s why I love engineering and have had a 40 plus year career making stuff all over the world. From passenger boarding bridges and airport equipment, to automotive air bags, to munitions and subsea and onshore oil and gas equipment and technologies, I’ve seen to it that a lot of quality, mission critical stuff got made.
I write what I do because I think these are things people like you and me want to know. Sometimes I hit, sometimes I miss, but I’m always trying to put out something to which it is worth paying attention. I also write to let people know that they are not alone in thinking what they are thinking.
I wanted to take a minute to thank every member of this newsletter, the paid subscribers who find something here worth supporting, and a special thanks to the founding members who kicked in a substantial contribution to the cause.
I am trying to be better every day but know I am also trying to be worthy of your time and support.
And my writing partner, Murph, thanks you, too!
My sincere thanks,
Mike
You are one of the most poignant and well-spoken (you have a vocabulary greater than at least 95% of the people I've known) voices out there Mike. You are one of the few who I care to read regularly.
Lol you are too a real philosopher and writer. Journalist no...just as well to not be, anyway.
Excuse me--thank you, too.
